Don’t call it a vanity project—these celebs have the chops to be exceptional Porsche drivers on the track.

Porsche recently announced that actor Michael Fassbender will rep the automaker in the European Le Mans Series. It is certainly not the first time that Hollywood and Stuttgart have crossed paths. Many celebrities have taken their Porsche passion to new levels by competing and racing.

Ultimately, Fassbender hopes to race at 24 Hours of Le Mans. He’s put in the work, and documented his journey with a series of short films for Porsche. And, this isn’t an act of whimsy nor vanity; the man knows his stuff. The star of the X-Men films has always loved cars, and the rush of speed. “Even before I started acting, I had a big dream to go racing” he says. “It was clear to me at a young age. My father was an avid driver and he taught me a lot.”
