Do you race in the rain?
Always - If I'm scheduled, I race.
Rarely - Maybe, if not too wet.
Never - Not worth the risks.
EDIT: How do you set up a poll?

Racing, no DE.
When I raced mx-5 with skippy, I raced rain or shine -- even won a couple of rain races. I've heard from some racers I respect that racing their own car in the rain is not worth the risks for them. Hence this thread.

Just did my first race in the rain a few weekends ago...VIR in the middle of Hurricane Matthew. Probably an extreme example, but well worth the experience. Not for everyone, obviously, but if you trust your trackmates to drive with some level of common sense and self-preservation, it can be fun.

I might not be your target audience,
I've raced at night when it's snowed :-)
Ironically after we finished that race we had to get a hotel because the public roads were too dangerous :-)
If I'm tracking my Boxster, I'll DE it in any weather, how else do you get more comfortable in inclement weather.
On the other hand my 911 only sees sunny days!

I'll DE in the rain if I've got rain tires and conditions are not ridiculous*. Sharpens the skills, and relative to my peers, I'm faster in the rain .

*I'm not sure how bad it would have to get, as I went out in this. There were parts of the track where only a 2ft wide strip separated the standing water on the left from the right. Had a ball.
That's Rennlist's own sierralima boofing puddles in front of me.

Hell ya - The great horsepower equalizer.
Gridded on slicks in the rain. Spotty drizzle and wet track at start:
With that said, I've only had two reality check moments in a race car and they were both in the rain. Both at +-140MPH. Once hydroplaning down the back stretch at Rd Atl and again exiting turn 4 at Daytona. Took a while to get out of the car after both of those races.

Burning Brakes
Definately not anymore.....
Had my first incident when someone tried to save a spin in the rain and came back across track....
Done it many times and miss the challenge but that little plastic trophy is not worth as much as a nice shiny whole car in the trailer
Call me what you will

Who could forget this: (Stop stop stop stop)
Other posts reminded me of that part in the "Flat Out" video, paraphrasing "I've driven Caterham 150 MPH at Nürburgring, in the dark, in the rain".

One of the funnest races i've had was at NJMP this year, when everyone was gridded on "dry" tires, and it started raining as we went out. Because no one had rains on, everyone drove within their means. and it was a lot of fun, until it dried out, and i was the last to notice
