Thanks. I hope the car lives up to its claims. I'm excited to start driving it. I left it in Atlanta since our vacation home is in NC we had snow last night so I didn't want to drive it up here in that kind of environment. I'll pick it up on our way down back to Florida. I hope everyone else gets their dream fulfilled too. I figure I'm very fortunate to have what I have. Great way to start the new year.

Im considering two cars, just depends how much i want to spend.
02 w/49k miles for 38.5k in good condition, $40k once everything in ppi is sorted including 60k service. 5 owners waiting on over rev history.
03 x50 w/29k miles for $48k in excellent condition. All services completed on all typical fail points. No over revs. Help me pick one, both are colors i like.

ok, got another contender.

this one's got more miles.
I basically told the dealer I'd pay around $41k pending a clean PPI.
I think thats realistic.

Can give real world numbers and experience since I just sold my 996tt in July. Quick history, originally purchased in Feb 2012 with 19.5k miles for $47,500. Seller had the car for sale for 2 years at $55,000 and he mentioned that he would rarely get calls. He was original owner, full service records, perfect PPI. Enjoyed the car, they are great machines and unbelievable value. I modded with an exhaust and flash which adds great sound and hp for about $4k from Switzer, loved it. Also got an extended warranty for 3k from original owners dealer, 5 yr 60,000 miles
Anyway, the headlights got to me. When looking at other Porsches they just looked a lot better. In June 2013 started advertising. Put the car up for sale for $49,000 figuring there would need to be some play, received about 2 contacts in a month. Lowered price to $47k and a couple more tire kickers called, nothing. Finally put it up on Craigslist in Chicago and sold it for $43,500.
Point of the story is there are a lot of these around and they don't sell quickly. If I was able to use it as a daily, would have kept it. Work just prevents that as I need a sedan. I would

My conclusion was cut off. For your purposes I think the 996tt is perfect. Great engine, pretty comfortable and fun to drive. My advice is shop around and make lots of offers on the right cars. Your bound to find someone like me, good car, well maintained just wanted to move on.

While I hope to drive mine for less, that's still a lot of car for about the same depreciation as a driving a new pickup.
If you had left it stock, do you think you would have only lost 4k?

I bought it from Exotic Motors Midwest in St Louis MO.
It's silver / black.

Yes, mods are basically worth zero resale. Too much hassle undoing the exhaust and selling separately.
