I've tried that. Nothing like a picture of the car going down the road though.

Have you tried auto gespot?

Lots of pics of white 991s, I vote for steel.

Re: the glass sunroof, there is another benefit I've not seen here. As mentioned, I run with mine mostly tilted open around the burbs. When I park for a while somewhere in the sun, I leave it tilted open, for cooling. And I close the shade to keep bugs out of the interior. For me that's a plus.

My glass roof doesn't rattle or creak at all.

I've had both steel and glass in 991S's and neither of them rattled or squeaked...

No disrespect intended at all...I had a glass roof option on a 1979 Vette and thought it was just a gimmick that's all. It was a fad in the early 80s on a lot of cars. But if you like it go for it- like someone said it's your car.

After looking at a lot of pictures and my first instinct when I saw a white car last month in Palm Desert, CA, I've decided to leave my order as is with a steel sunroof. I seldom open the shade on my current car and don't use a sunroof frequently either. I'll still have the sunroof, just not (the more popular, it seems) glass sunroof. To my eye, the dark glass just doesn't look right on a white car. Thanks for everyone's input.

I like the glass sunroof but on a non-black car, I would probably opt for the steel roof for the same reason if I was ordering one. Cheers!

I just ordered a new 911S in GT Silver with the glass sunroof. I was wondering if anyone has had issues with the glass scratching or functionality.

The steel one has that capability, too.

I think 09 Red's point was that with a glass roof you can tilt it up when you park, close the sunshade and then vent the car with the sunshade closed to keep the bugs out. No sunshade with the steel tilt up roof.

Ah yes. Keeping the bugs out is a plus.
