All I am saying is, if your plan was to order a C4S, changing that order to a 4GTS may not be a good idea. A C4S can be optioned to similar to a base 4GTS and still come in ~$15G less than the 4GTS. OTOH, the 2 GTS has something to offer over a C2S (the wider body). But, that wider body in a rear wheel drive will cost substantially more than an otherwise comparably equipped C2S.

The only uniqueness the GTS really offers is the 450hp, which places it between the Carrera S and the Turbo. It's a Porsche marketing scheme to fill all possible gaps. IMO, the GTS offers no value over a loaded C4S, which would still be less expensive than a comparably equipped 4 GTS). IOW, don't forego a C4S order to jump on to a newly announced GTS thinking its a much better car or better value. It's not.

But, to each his own.

I beg to differ.

The Birkin is actually the 911R.

I'm sure guys will decide the best way to spend their own money on a GTS if they want, unless 48 hours does an expose on the Porsche marketing game

Just 2 years left before the full model change.

It's the old question again; is this the right timing to buy an existing model??
Because it's the "special" GTS version?

It is a big committment of money, and wonder am I just buying into Porsche marketing?
Or can I justify by thinking... it's another long 4-5 years till next GTS?

Sure, wait 4-5 yrs for the 992.1 GTS. Oh, why not another 7-8 years for the 992.2 GTS??

If you have the time, wait on.

No need for anyone to get worked about it one way or the other.

Life is too short for that mess.

Yes it's the old answer, wait and wait and wait and you'll never get it.

But with 992.1 GTS, you enjoy the same model for at least 4-5 years,
except for minor facelift changes.

With the current 991.2 GTS, it gets outdated in 2 years with a full change.

That's what's bugging my mind.

(Or just wait for a fresh 992.1 S, than 7-8 years of fresh car??

argggggghhhhh)

Porsche has this stuff all figured out and programmed into the system. There's a reason we knew the .2 S would have 420 hp and the .2GTS 450. It has nothing to do with technical or engineering limits.

The best 911 you can afford today is the best one to buy now. And a better 'best one you can afford' will always be out two years later. But it will only be a little bit better, so you can wait 2 or 4 years to upgrade or wait 6 or even 8 years to buy another and start collecting them.

Sadly nobody has has figured out how to do it better so the game will press on.

So many Birkins... can't find a wife without one.
I know one with 4 Birkin bags.

Can't be compared to a 911R.

If you settle on any specific model and buy it around when it's first released you'll own it for 3-5 years before you see a newer version of the same trim pass you on the street. The GT3RS is the 'old' 991.1 and is being produced alongside 991.2 S models. But the previous RS it replaces was a 997.
