They're 18x8.5 running 245/35 tires. I'll post some pics of my other wheels tomorrow, I've been crazy busy today.

LOL! The last time you drove my car it had a horrible exhaust leak that killed the spool, and it was limited to like 10 psi. You havn't experienced the monster...yet. Looking forward to it buddy! And while yes, I am convinced V8 is the way to go long term, I still a 16v stroker motor build on my engine stand. I guess I'm nuts!

You've got that backwards...'83-'86 944 front rotors are 285mm and '84-'89 911 [and '87-'89 944] front rotors are 282.5mm. Though, I suppose 2.5mm is negligible from a performance, or aesthetic, point of view.

IIRC, those 944 rotors are 20mm thick. How thick are the 986 rotors, 24mm?

Thanks for the correction! 1.5 isn't much. Other sources I've checked say they're 280, or 282. I guess I'll have to measure the ones I removed. Either way, you're right about it being negligible.
Yes, the 968 and Carerra rotors are 283x24mm.

So would this fit under 15" cookie cutters? if the rotors are the same size, the caliper can't be too much further out, right?

Nice. So, you've fit 986 front calipers, via spindle adaptors, with your OE rotors?

Cale, I guess that begs the question, "Why swap out the OE rotors"? Was my suspicion correct...944 OE front rotors are 285x20mm? So, the 911 rotor swap buys an extra 4mm of thickness/mass for heat transfer?

letting the secret out of the bag regarding this...
http://vdubengineering.com/uncategor...rly-944-front/
http://vdubengineering.com/uncategor...pter-944-rear/

very reasonable and rear uses stock rotors.
im thinking about going this direction whenever i have to up-size my wheels.
