Bridgestone S02 or S03..?
Hello ,
It seems that the Bridgestone tyres are one of the best about grip, rain, noise.(but not the lighter ones)
There's a big diference between the S02 and S03?
thanks. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I believe the S0-3 is made of a compound that provides excellent wet weather traction evenly throughout the life of the tire as it wears.
I have RE-730's on my 951. They're excellent for the price. I'll likely go with the S0-3 when I upgrade to 17" wheels.
Help! Anyone else with tire knowledge?

The S-03 Pole Position is replacing the S-02 Pole Position. The original <a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Potenza+S-02" target="_blank">S-02</a> which was approved by Porsche is still available.

Viken, so normally, the S03PP is also approved by Porsche? even if the S03PP. doesn't have the "N" rate?
Thanks.

I am afraid for summer tyres, if there is not, N0, N1, N2, N3 or N4 on the tyre then it is not Porsche approved. The SO3s were never built to Porsche specifications therefore they are not approved. The SO2 PPs were also as Viken points out never N rated either. The N rated SO2 Potenzas are still available,

So Adrian, if the S03 is not approved by Porsche, AG , How come that in this forum, many P-car owners are running in S03?
What should be the risks, and what the "N" rate changes. I'm a bit disapointed, 'cause i wanted those S03..!. I made a call to Porsche (Amag...)then they said the S03 is not accepted by Porsche; Only Pirelli Assymetrico, and Continental...
thanks.

Dear Andreas,
You are asking me questions that I really have no concrete answers. Why are the SO3s not Porsche approved. Well Porsche and Bridgestone fell out. If you want N rated tyres you have to build them to Porsche specs. Porsche control the tyre manufacturing via their quality department etc. Costs a lot of money and from what I believe Bridgestone decided that this was not for them anymore.
Why do lots of Rennlisters use SO3s. I guess because they like them. Experience with tyres varies dramatically.
If you want SO3s then purchase them. We all have very different opinions and needs about and for tyres. Purchase what makes you comfortable.
I am currently testing a set Toyo T1S Proxes. Bridgestone would not give me a set of SO3s to test so I will not test them.
I loved my set of SO1s and my set of SO2s. The SO2s are currently fitted to my daughters 944. The SO2 is a noisy tyre but sticks like nothing to the road. As did the SO1s. However I only used 16 inch versions.
I have to admit though that Bridgestone tyres nowadays are earning the reputation of being real screamers. As in noisy. Some of the Bridgestones actually fail the new Swiss noise regulations for tyre noise,

Adrian,
Thanks for your feedback.
I receive a mail from Bridgestone Switzerland,
They said that it's possible to install the S03PP in the Porsche , but they recomend better the S02 N02.
I bought a new 18'Turbo look , so i will put the S02 N02 on.
Good luck with your Toyo's T1S.
Hope the Bridg.will be not too much noisy! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />
regards.

No, it is not. However, this doesn't mean you can't use it.
