Can you run 17" wheels
if so what width and what size tires

Doug, If you are looking to Club Race, the max. sizes you can run are 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the rear. I feel that anything bigger in the rear you will overtire the car. That is if your motor is still stock. Hope this helps.

I would suggest 7" front with 205/50 and 9" rear with 255/40

205 width on the front will still give you excellent steering feel.

these widths should also give you no clearance problems

I have 17” by 7.5 and 9 wheels with 225/45 tires on front and 255/40 on back. It is an ’86 that is lowered to 24.5” in front with rolled fenders and some negative camber. There is no rubbing and it looks nice.
