1987 911 Wheels- 16/17 sizes
Can you run 17" wheels
if so what width and what size tires Thanks Doug Hughes |
Doug, If you are looking to Club Race, the max. sizes you can run are 17x8 in the front and 17x9 in the rear. I feel that anything bigger in the rear you will overtire the car. That is if your motor is still stock. Hope this helps.

I would suggest 7" front with 205/50 and 9" rear with 255/40 205 width on the front will still give you excellent steering feel. these widths should also give you no clearance problems |
I have 17” by 7.5 and 9 wheels with 225/45 tires on front and 255/40 on back. It is an ’86 that is lowered to 24.5” in front with rolled fenders and some negative camber. There is no rubbing and it looks nice.
