Kumho Victoracers Discontinued?
So I had decided to go with a set of the Victoracers and went to my local tire shop that I use. He called me today and told me that Kumho is no longer providing new orders of Victoracers or V710's. He said if I wanted them the best thing would be to buy two sets off tire rack because they probably still have stock left. Now I'm wondering if it is worth buying a tire that is going to be discontinued. But what else is there beside Kumho's for autocross.....I know...Hoosiers.

Why would you not buy them just because they'll be discontinued?
Both the VRs and the V710s are excellent values, so it would be a shame if they ceased production. I thought the V710s were so popular that Kumho wouldn't stop selling them. Maybe they have something else coming out.

I was just thinking that buying a discontinued tire might not be a good idea if I needed to replace one due to a flat or damage.

The number of VR sizes offered has been in decline, so I guess we shouldn't be so surprised that they are discontinued. TR still lists the sizes I used on my RSA, however. I liked them because they worked pretty good anywhere there was pavement; a jack of all trades, master of none type of tire, like the old BFG R-1s.
I think I'd still opt to order a set if I could find one. I had to shop around for my last set of BFG R-1s after they were discontinued, and some suppliers still had odd "spares" (but not full sets) of them for at least a year afterward.
I wonder how they're changing the V710.

I've found no current info that the V710 is discontinued. They are adding a new tire, a W710, to be used on wet surfaces.
Kumho did have problems with the V710 back in 2004.
I too was told that the V710 was "out of stock / discontinued" by my tire dealer. Calling Tire Rack, they were in stock and there was no mention of limited availability.
