Default Wheel refinishing - Mid Atlantic area?

My 88 928 has 17" Cup II wheels that have been banged up pretty good by the PO, and one of the wheels has lost its clear coat entirely. I like the wheels, so i would rather refinish than buy a whole new set if it is cost effective. Does anyone know of a good company that will do this on the East Coast? What is the typical procedure? Have a tire shop take off the tires and then I ship the wheels out? Anyone have a good feel for what the cost should be?

Many thanks!

Bill

Wheel Doctor in Gaithersburg, MD. I've heard good things about the guy and I have a set of Gemballa Compeition wheels I'm taking to him over the winter to have all the curb rash fixed.
