Default Great mountain drive for SoCal!!

Lived in the area all my life and today was my first drive in these canyons.

Started at Azusa canyons entrance off 210....then there's about a nice 1hr drive through the canyons with plenty of nice views and stops along the way...you can continue drive all the way to mt baldy (Montclair) or exit out in Glendora which is what I did...anybody down to set something up in the future?? Fyi hardly any cars just some bicycle riders but pretty good for a Sunday

I live in Claremont (base of baldy)... we can head up baldy road and hit breakfast at the Lodge (if we want to) then hit Glendora Ridge Road to GMR, very nice drive and drop down GMR. A longer detour would be GRR to GMR North to E Fork Rd and down San Gabriel Rd (aka Azusa). just a suggestion, but either way, I'm in!

PS, be nice to the cyclist... cuz I also pedal up gmr to baldy!

Default Yes!

One of the few canyon roads/areas I haven't driven yet. I'm interested in joining.

Drive is beautiful; Baldy road is nice and wide two lane mtn road. From Baldy, you take GRR, which is a paved, undivided fire road, wide enough for two cars but the lead car needs to be careful of oncoming traffic. Lastly, GMR is your typical mtn road. This route is roughly 35 miles, probably an 1.5 hr drive with a few scenic stops.

There's a vons on the SE corner of Mills and Baseline with a huge parking lot, great meeting spot, just off the 210 and right at the bottom of the drive.
