Emden to US West Coast @ 2024

Thank you!! so they have bs dates on the App got it.

Now you know the ship and schedule you can track it via the multitude of vessel trackers. I suspect the marine trackers will have more accurate data than the Porsche app or website. These are the results I am seeing in my instance. Welcome to the club!

@BaxterB I’ll start off with my usual disclaimer: I’m not a shipping logistics expert, I only play one on TV.
While I can't confirm Poseidon's schedule with 100% certainty, per the current NYK shipping schedule as of this morning, it shows Poseidon picking up Bimmers in Bremerhaven on 04/11, arriving in Emden on 04/12, then departing on 04/13 and arriving in San Diego on ~05/06 . Important thing is if your sales rep shared dates from their internal tracking system with you and it roughly aligns with Poseidon’s schedule, you should have a “good” (not great) chance on getting on it. The reason for the caution is my own example: based on dates that my SA shared with me, I thought for sure I would be on three consecutive separate west coast ships in early March but nope, I didn’t make any of 'em – I ended up on Jiuyang Blossom near the end of March. Also remember that the VW group uses Emden for VW and Audi vehicles too so depending on volume, Porsches may not even make it on the ship.
Long story short: until you receive that Porsche e-mail on or around 04/13, notifying you that the next milestone is reached and your car has left Emden, guessing which ship you’re on is an art, not a science unfortunately. However, once you get that ***** Wonka gold ticket email and the TYD site shows you’ve reached Milestone 8, you can use that TYD hack (see posting #541) as a final confirmation by identifying the ship name. Hope this helps and good luck!
( BTW, I looked up Poseidon and it shows it's heading to Brixham UK tomorrow (04/06). It might be going to Zeebrugge BE next though since five days seems like a long time to get to Bremerhaven from the UK. )

Can anyone confirm that Poseidon Leader is still scheduled to be the US West Coast RORO departing Emden next Friday on 4/12?
Right now it looks like it will arrive at a Belgium port in the next day or so, but I can’t see the next location in Marine Traffic.

How many west coast folks who've agreed to an ADM will renegotiate once their car arrives? The market is softening quite a bit since most of us first placed our orders and I'm starting to now hear SoCal dealers offering available allocations at MSRP.

I have been actively searching for 911's to buy since the delay started. I have been waiting since November when I first placed my order and agreed to pay the ADM, I have found 0 cars worth considering over my order (Been searching Vegas, LA). Very few new models available and are going over asking due to low inventory and used cars are going near how much I agreed to pay for mine...I am not about to forfeit my order and try ordering at msrp considering what a clown show it is to grab an allocation spot. This is my 5th Porsche order and by far the worst experience so far.
Also pretty interesting how the distance to destination keeps dropping even when the ship is still docked lol

If anyone was wondering how Porsches, Lambos, and Bentleys are loaded on RORO ships, here is a short video. Seems like the guy was trying to hide the camera so the sound is terrible (and mostly nonexistent) but you can see a range of models from Porsche, Bentley and Lamborghini. It seems like they don't pack the Porsches are close together as I've seen on some other videos with other makes.

How would one go about renegotiating the AMD? What arguments can be made to bolster one’s case? Shipping delays, chips, etc.,?

Agree with FileTitan’s sentiment. While ADM totally sucks, once your car arrives at the dealer, the sales guys will have the psychological leverage over you if you try to renegotiate unfortunately. While you’re sitting at the sales desk out in the lobby trying to renegotiate, they’ll have your nice shiny 992 sitting there in your line of sight as you sweat. A car that you spec’d that you’ve been waiting on patiently for months. I’m sure they’ll say things like “We have plenty of other buyers who will snap up YOUR car in a sec…”. They might comp you free floormats, other swag, or free future service to appease you for the chip fiasco but my guess is that’s it.
The best time to renegotiate might have been while the car was sitting in Emden for the X number of weeks / months as a goodwill gesture. Even if the sales guy might be sympathetic to your plight, I doubt the sales manager will be. Just my opinion of course - sorry!

For those of you on the Glovis Companion, it has docked in San Diego. Interestingly, my TYD shows the ship off the coast of central Mexico and dealer arrival 4/15. My SA said their system shows arrival 4/19. Should be interesting to see how this shakes out.

There isn't really a solid case since the car has been already ordered. I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask for a quid pro quo. Maybe buy extended service contracts in lieu of the ADM. No way I'm walking away from my allocation, so I'm probably not going to get far.

Great news. JIUYANG BLOSSOM has finally entered Terrestrial AIS range once again... Getting really close to Santa Maria now... Made the long journey across the Atlantic. Should be smooth sailing to Columbia, Panama Canal, San Diego and then Benicia... Still cruising at 19 mph... ETA is still showing as 4/10 at 08:00...
Exciting!
Exciting!
