We have been a long time lurker to these forums, and for 2023 have decided to share what we are up to in the Porsche community! Here is a "shop life" focused thread with some behind the scenes photos of cars that we have in, from services to full out builds. Stay tuned as we update this on a regular basis with behind the scenes photos and videos of our day to day work load.


Our Shop:

We are Pacific German, a Porsche specialist in Laguna Hills, CA (Southern California) offering service, maintenance, repairs, and enhancements for your watercooled Porsche. Our technicians are well versed in all things ~1998-and up 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Panamera, Macan, and Taycan. Specializing in all things owned by the Volkswagen brand, we also offer these services for your Audi, VW, Bentley, Lamborghini, as well as some other high end European makes such as BMW, McLaren, Ferrari, etc.

We are located in Laguna Hills, CA, right in the heart of Southern Orange County. Our 7,200 sqft facility is right off the 5 Freeway, between the Lake Forest and El Toro exits, just minutes away from the Irvine Spectrum and close by to various shopping centers / movie theaters. For those who like to wait, we are fully equipped with a large lobby that has Wifi, Coffee, Television, and a 720 Gallon Reef Aquarium to see your car through!

Cayenne Turbo in the shop for a set of Vossen S21-01 22" wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, lowered ride height with our factory scan tool, four wheel alignment, and VF Engineering engine software performance tuning.

992 Carrera S in the shop for a GIAC engine performance software flash! Gains of peak to peak are nearly 50hp and 80tq over stock on pump gas while retaining full reliability and keeping this 911 a daily driven thrill!

992 Turbo S cabriolet in for a full Akrapovic exhaust system and VF Engineering engine software upgrade! We also swapped the front amber marker lights out for a set of genuine clear marker lights to improve the aesthetics.

We improved the aesthetics of this 991 with a set of H&R Sport lowering springs, HRE RC100 wheels in transparent red wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s, but also increased the output substantially with GIAC Stage 3 software, Champion 68mm VTG Tial turbochargers, Wagner intercoolers and Y Pipe, IPD Plenum, Billet Diverter Valves, BMC filters, and Fabspeed exhaust system.

991.2 GT3 in the shop for a pre-purchase inspection!

Although our schedule is usually pretty crazy at the shop, we can still sometimes find the man power to squeeze in time sensitive pre-purchase inspections for buyers & sellers! We offer various levels of inspections catering to specific cars, but with a standard inspection every car gets a test drive to check operating conditions, then straight into the work shop for a full lookover. We check as much as we can without tearing the cars down too much, usually each car will go up in the area with a walkthrough underneath to check suspension, brakes, engine & transmission components, removal of covers to check for any hidden issues. We run over the cars with a paint depth meter, check for any hidden body work, scan the entire vehicle's module network with the factory scan tool and even look into overrun reports (if applicable) Lastly we open the decklid to view the engine (where possible) and check the battery, brake fluid, etc.

Usual inspections take 2-3 hours, but we can get pretty serious with compression, leak down, bore scoring checks, etc and spend a day on a car. 991 GTS in for Service!

This GTS dropped in for scheduled maintenance and while under the car we found a leaky belt tensioner. When these hydraulic tensioners lose their ability to dampen the belt drive, you can start to experience belt squeal, lose a belt, or have issues with the charge system / cooling system overheating if the belt slips without driving the necessary components. These tensioners are known to leak in most modern Porsches, its important to have the whole car checked out during a service - oil changes only don't cut it!

Sapphire GTS

We had this Sapphire Blue GTS Targa in the shop for service and some retrofits. The owner of the car wanted to re-create a build he had some years back, and had us remove the sport steering wheel and aero mirrors from his car so we could retrofit power folding mirrors, multi function steering wheel (with heat!) and a voice control system to the pcm. While we had the car in, we found it was also due for some service work; a new belt tensioner, belt, spark plugs, and fluids change has this 991 back on the road with restored performance!

981 Boxster Spyder in for Service!




997 GT3 (with 997.2 inspired aero & livery) in for a engine pull! We found the rear crankshaft seal leaking oil on this GT3 while it was in for service and new tires. Easy in and out and back on the road the next day!

992 Turbo S in for a windshield replacement and night vision camera replacement (those darn rocks!) We have the calibration boards from Porsche to calibrate these front camera systems to ensure proper functionality.
