I have a question that may have been answered but I have not read every page of this thread. I'm in the group buy for my Carrera T and cant wait to get them installed. I was wondering though, how can we tell if there are any issues with the rotors or pads? Before and after installation. How do we determine wear, damage, failure, etc? Thanks!!

Girodiscs sells the discs to mount on rotors. When you do a Girodisc conversion, you only buy the bells the first time.

Edit: Girodisc sells the discs to mount on their bells…

While I do not advise it because it's very easy to damage a carbon ceramic ring if you even slightly over or under torque the hardware, it's theoretically possible. You would need to be careful not to damage the carbon ceramic rings in doing so and, as @Westcoast mentioned, there would be adverse warranty implications simply because of the number of variables involved, etc..

All those caveats aside, there's nothing stopping someone from doing that as long as they understand what they're doing and the consequences of doing so.

I can't speak to the OEM PCCB definitively (since it would be somewhat irresponsible of me to do so), but I would strongly suspect you can do the same there as well.
Thanks!

Would you provide the torque specs and any other required instructions that should be followed to do this correctly?

Some very positive new feedback on bimmerpost and Emira forums

Apologies for not being as responsive btw. I’m abroad and between the initial jet lag and being an extremely rural area where connectivity is bad, have been falling behind on questions/emails. In about 30 hours I’ll be in a more developed area and will be better position to catch up on emails/questions. I’ll be starting to catch up before that but right now my internet is extremely spotty.

Thanks,
John

I did a wear writeup on the 718 section but will put it here as well.

This is a great question and one I’d like to answer a little more thoroughly, so give me a couple days until my travel stabilizes and I’ll address this in more detail.

Great question though. Thank you.

420x40 / 410x32? They would be $7,500 delivered. Feel free to email if you wanted to discuss specifics. Info@bspkforged.com

Thanks!

Can you post a link to those comments? Maybe that would be easier. Thanks!
