I like your blue one! Just curious about you building many identical cars?

Thanks! It's my vice and passion putting these projects together. First part is the hunt which is a thrill in itself, followed by the build. Once the build is done, I'm ready for the next. I have built one every 12-24 months. I'll probably do one or two more after this.

There were two blue ones BTW. One Minerva Blue Metallic and one Bugatti Strong Blue.

May I ask why you chose Turbo platforms for your builds? I too did several of the same cars. I owned three 996 GT2s. I've never been a huge fan of the concept of AWD. In fact when I received several laps as a passenger in a 959 Sport at Sears with a very capable driver the car honestly felt no faster and much softer and under braked compared to my stock GT2. I know I'm comparing apples and oranges but why not start with a rear wheel drive platform....

I agree with you 100% that the GT2 is a much more visceral car in all areas. I've owned one with mods and they are BEASTS even with just a tune!

Why build the 996 Turbo? For the exact reasons that you list:
  • They need suspension to really shine
  • They need brake mods to give you better pedal feel
  • They need tuning and free flow exhausts to allow the turbos to spool up sooner, make all of those great mechanical sounds, and make more power
  • They need front Aero (The RUF design is obviously my jam)
  • They need wheels and tires - If I don't go RUF, then I go Champion

After I change everything above, you have a more mechanical, analog, car that is the opposite of how they come. All of that for a fraction of what a GT3 or GT2 would run you while still being unique in character and design.

Thanks for the reply. Makes good sense to me. My GT2 s we're mechanically stock for the most part save for alignment and some factory Clubsport interior updates. I've never been a big mod guy but your stuff is awesome. GLWS!!
