A Previous Timing Belt & OE Porsche Water Pump were both replaced with OE Porsche parts at 89K. So, the current water pump has just ~32K miles.
I just checked & cleaned the 8 Connection points for coils/wires -which were replaced some years back, Temp II switch, and 4 ground points -added DeOxit to all -which is also on the Relay & fuse panel connection points, and several other key elec. connections. I'm particular, it all works well.
Took it for a great 50+ mile cruise up/down I-15 & over the 52 to I-5 downtown Saturday -All Excellent, smooth, fast fun -the sounds & acceleration are addicting, detailed it too. Didn't see any other 928s -but counted 14 911s.

-- TOO MUCH MORE TO LIST -from CD or 6 page spreadsheet of records.

-EXCELLENT Exhaust Sound (rear muffler delete). DIALED IN & READY TO ENJOY!
** This looks like a 5 year old car -not a 28 year old. People ask me if it's new! -The New Panamera Coupe'??! It's shape, styling, aerodynamics, and technology were very advanced for the 80's -Porsche was also making the legendary 959 Supercar at the same time as this 1988 GT Supercar.
Includes Owners Manual, 20+ yrs. of records/receipts, Full Tool Kit, Spare tire, Orig. Relay/Fuse diagram, and Full Shop Repair Manuals On CD. -Great Resource. I also have several other Technical, Repair & Parts resources for the Buyer -Everything for these cars can be found in CA... I'm selling because I have another '90 928 S4 to improve & sell, a '97 Black 840Ci -and a Nice Blue/Blue '89 Mercedes Benz 560SL to sell... Call if interested.
** 1 OF ONLY 1,792 MADE FOR North America.
THIS PORSCHE is $26,200 & APPRECIATING ~20%/YR.
HAGERTY Valuation in #2 Condition is $28,600 and just beginning a Rapid Increase in Value. This is certainly on the better side of #2 Condition. BUY NOW!
You want to buy a 928S4 with proof of consistent use, care, dry storage, and regular maintenance & services -ie: This sweet one.
Avoid 928s that have sat for years at a time, are from non-garaged, wet/eastern salty areas, and ones that have been beaten up by 5 owners & neglected. -You'll save $20K in repairs, years of headaches -and be able to drive/enjoy (near)daily -not every few months.
Look at the price increases of the '80s 911 Carreras. -In this condition they are $35K - $100K. Yet, Less powerful, less equipped, less advanced, less comfortable, less luggage/grocery space, quirky handling, and less rare/unique.
-The '87 928S4 was the Fastest Production non-turbo car sold in US -at 170MPH !
-There were 10-15 Times as many of the Porsche 911s made in the 80s! -Around 15K 911s made for 1988 - only 1,792 of the 928 S4s...
These are considered the "World's Best GT" -per Classic & Sports Car Magazine, last year (see Pic in CL ad).
With 50/50 Weight Distribution, Aluminum Hood, fenders & doors, Limited slip Differential, Big Brembo Brakes, Adjustable Coil-over suspension, Weisach, etc.. 928s Handle terrifically, and are very well respected Worldwide. Collectors are snatching up excellent ones like this - '86-'95 models being the best and most rare -as they're going up in value quickly. I wish I could keep it.
--+ Ask about my '90 928S4 (RARE 1 of 455 US), '97 BMW 840Ci (RARE 1 of 258 US '97), or 1989 560SL -All for sale.

More info.-Pics -video upon request
Was asked... The photos that look a bit Orange in tint were taken with a lame camera-phone. The better deep shiny Red shown in photos by garage doors are very accurate to the nice color & shine. -Taken with different/better camera-phone.
-Happy to provide any specific photos (with real good actual 10M+ camera) & other info. I've lubricated everything that moves on this car -and used Dioxit on fuse/relay boards, ignitors, ECU fittings & most connections.
-The Brake-pad warning light is on -due to loose/bad sensor or wire -FR I think... Two new Brake Pad Sensors with wire/connector are included with the car (and a handful of spare relays, misc.). Brake Pads are thick with ~60% life left, only 13500 miles on them.
-Heat works well. AC all works but not too cold.-I don't mind, never want it, prefer windows & sunroof open to hear awesome exhaust & V8 sounds, get sun & wind...

Really??
It's Rare because only 1,792 were made. ( you have an '88 928S4 right? -you know this) -How many do you think are still on the road -optimistically maybe 500?
Comparatively there were about 14,000 911s made for 1988 - and about 70,000 1988 BMWs. And about 400,000 US Hondas.
I have only seen about 4 other 928s driving around San Diego in the past 7+ years. That counts as quite Rare to me -and any other half-aware car guy I know.
Every Day I see 5-10 Mid-80s-90s Porsche 911s -and 10 more newer ones.
Ok it's not as rare as an '88 Ferrari or Lamborghini -but 1/5th of the price.
Just added the Clean CarFax Report on this Excellent '88 928S4 to the Ebay Listing - No Reserve Ends Monday 2:59PM.
BID! Win! Fly in, Drive home with a Huge Smile the whole way.
