Modifications:
Exterior/Appearance
- Euro-spec (no bumperettes) Turbo front bumper cover with TurboS lighted ducts. This was installed by the Porsche Center in Stuttgart, and they used all correct parts, including the Turbo wheel liners and inner air control parts. The ducts come from Carnewal in Europe.
- Euro-Spec (no bumperettes) rear bumper cover.
- Big Oval exhaust tips
- RUF modified spoiler control, which raises the spoiler at about 70mph, (higher than stock version) – this reduces wear on the spoiler, which isn’t effective at lower speeds anyway.
- ADDED: There is no major body damage or rust anywhere on the car. The paint has some stone chips and normal blemishes, but there are no major paint problems anywhere on the car.
- Tinted glass – High quality tint
Engine/Transmission
- Motor Sound Air Box
- RSR Modified mufflers – These are still the original mufflers with Porsche part numbers, but they have been opened and modified, then re-welded for stock appearance
- RS Engine Mounts, OE Parts
- FD Motorsports Short Shift Kit, with “Goldenrod” RS-Style Shift Rod
Suspension
- PSS-9 Suspension, set at Euro RS ride height and alignment
- RS Sway Bars, front and rear, with correct RS drop links on the rear
Interior
- Porsche Hi-Fi system upgraded at Car Audio Innovations, including Audison Amp, two “behind the seat” Subwoofers mounted in custom boxes with matching carpet, and Focal 2-way Door speakers. Full professional installation was done by renowned Porsche 911/964/993 experts at CAI in California. This includes iPod integration via 30-Pin to USB into the head unit, which could be changed to Lightning or other USB Aux input.
- Kenwood KIV-700 head unit, with a CDR-220 (properly modified for use in 993) included
- RUF Aluminum Shift **** and pedal set – this was actually installed at the RUF shop in Germany
Maintenance Status:
- Oil Change with Mobil 1 15-50 and large filter about 5,000 miles ago, both filters changed on last oil change about 10,000 miles ago. Air Filter also replaced
- Brake fluid flushed and new transmission oil about 1,000 miles ago
- All Brake Pads replaced about 5,000 miles ago
- Four new Bridgestone S-04s mounted about 5,000 miles ago
- Proper Porsche belts installed, with new spares in the tool kit.
There are no major maintenance issues on this car. All systems work properly, and fluid and filter changes have been done at the proper intervals since I have owned the car.
ADDED: In about 2009, when I had the RUF pedals installed, the RUF techs ended up cracking the windshield. Mr. Ruf (who was standing there when it happened) agreed to have the windshield replaced at the Porsche Center in Stuttgart. While doing the replacement, they found some rust in the usual spots at the corner of the windshield opening, so they did a proper and complete repair, including stripping the metal, repairing the rust (mostly surface), with primer, sealant, and new paint.
I am a long-time PCA and Rennlist member. I have owned the car since 2005, and the previous owner is also a PCA and Rennlist member. I had the car in Monterey, CA for a year after I bought it, and then I shipped it to Germany, where I lived for 8 years, before shipping the car back to the USA.
I have the car in Northern Virginia/DC Metro Area. It is titled and registered in Arizona. The lien is held by Pentagon Federal Credit Union, with offices around the DC Area, as well as online. Their title release process goes pretty quickly, but be aware that this process must be completed before title can be signed over to buyer.
I will include two car covers and a battery maintainer with the car (The plug for the maintainer is hard-wired to the battery). Owner’s Manual and related paperwork included.
I welcome PPIs (done at your expense) as long as travel to the shop is reasonable – traffic is horrible in the DC Metro area, so please take that into account when selecting PPI location. I am in the Woodbridge area, and work at Fort Belvoir. I also welcome “RENNFAX” meet-ups, again, within reason. I am willing to work with the buyer on delivering the car for shipping if needed, but all shipping is at buyer’s expense.
