Default okee dokee then...

it was serendipity. i am trying to move out of state and figured it was time for me to let go of my garage jewelry.

the guy in portland, oregon who wanted it, never did call back. oh mike, you silly, silly boy.

while listed on craigslist, i began reading about porsches. i found rennlist and immediately felt that this was the place to find a new home for the beastie, if mike didn't come through.

i got the nicest messages from rennlisters and listettes (they mostly all yelled at me from craigslist). however, rennlist messages were not always from buyers. some read my sale (life story) and wrote, talk to greg.

and again and again i read or heard, talk to greg at precision motorwerks. well i called him.....

AND YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY. YIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEE!

mike must be in a coma. i love you mike!!!!!!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i am so sorry to the people here who wanted the car. glad i didn't have to choose between you! and i truly had no idea it would go this way. before craig and renn, i was originally going to donate it - but then i had a nightmare that leatherface got it and there was porsche blood everywhere.

in the end, i'm delighted mike asked for time - i found new friends (who sucked me into the abyss), and after speaking to greg, i knew i had to return to the dark side - they have lots of pretty 928's there!

i've been talking nonstop for the past few days about 928's to 928 people, and people who could care less and wish i'd shut up. i'm so excited.

thanks to greg, i'm no longer anxious about porsch repairs. i am fearless and ready. and now i'm waiting. open open open open open.

Default Beautiful Ending

What a great story and my daughter and I are really happy for you, well, I am anyway! So cool the passion and impact something so simple as car can have on people, and you specifically. When you talked about someone adopting your car, it was clear to me that it was special to you and great decision in hanging on to it.

Afterall, and as Tom Cruise said in reference to the 928 in the Risky Business movie, "Porsche, there is no other ultimate driving machine." Or, something to that effect........

Congrats again and great decision.

hi kfitz - thanks for your encouragement. and more fine humor!

i've been reading some 928 threads here, especially the sales and auctions. it makes me sad to see these cars banged up where they won't be put back together again. it's good that they can become donors, but really painful when another 928 bites it.

barely seen on the road as it is, and it takes the sacrifice of other 928's to keep the remaining few alive. i knew my car drained my bank account, but feeding on other limping, innocent, truly rare creatures as well.

my child is a vampire. when greg gets back, he's going to open the hood and hear a whisper.... "i want more."
