THIS CAR HAS A BLOWN ENGINE.
From what I can tell, the block is cracked and piston 1 and 2 are damaged.
The engine is currently out of the car. It can be placed back in for shipping purposes if needed.

It is a 2005 Carrera S 52,000 miles
Silver external, Black internal.
Currently has GT2 seats (I’m keeping those) So this car will come with NO FRONT SEATS. You can find a set of stock seats for less than 2K, so keep that in mind with this car.
The rear seats are removed, I have them boxed so you can re-install them.
The car currently has a roll bar. This will be removed before sale.

Everything is good except:
1) The engine is blown
2) The front bumper has many nicks and scratches from bugs / rocks etc (There is a picture that shows this)
3) The hood has a few small nicks as well.
4) The front window has 2 small cracks (Already filled)
5) The buttons on the AC up and down are flacking off their paint.

Other than that it is a clean car. It sits in the garage all day. Right now it is in Tampa. Other things it has: Sport Chrono, Leather Interior (Stitched leather dash and doors), Bose sound system with factory sub woofer on the back deck. Navigation, Xenon Lights.

I don't have recent pictures of the car. Some of the ones attached are a bit older, but the condition hasn't really changed except noted above.

$35,000, you pick it up in Tampa Florida.

"Other than that, it's a clean car"

$35K for the car, $2K for seats, $1K for front respray, and $25K for a new motor. Another few grand for whatever else needs help.

So, all in, about $65K for a 2005 Carrera S with over 50K miles.

All I can say is, good luck with this sale.

Right now I'm considering a 2007 911 with 55K miles, in amazing condition, one owner, no accidents for $43,000. So IMHO 35,000 for a car that needs an engine seems really high.

yep, I think you will have a hard time selling it above 25k

25k car +10k engine = 35k and the buyer will have to go through a bunch of headache to make it happen.

I think you will have to sale it 20k to find a taker.

How did the engine blow up ? the money shift ?

Interestingly enough, this engine just came up in the Parts Marketplace for $5k - https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...-6-engine.html.

Even so, taking into account the work needed to install the engine, price is still way up there. Perhaps $25k would be more appropriate for a 7-yo rolling chassis.

40k would be a good price if the motor was perfect, so 35k with no motor?????

GLWS, I feel bad for you that the engine blew, but the price does seem high.

If you find the right buyer with a engine ready..., you might get lucky.

That seems about right for a no issues early 997 with 52k miles

sucks but very few people will want to start a project like this unless there is some profit for them in the end, monetary or not

OP:

You might have more luck replacing the seats yourself and then trying here:

http://www.ladismantler.com/parts/mo...ry_id=57&id=36

Maybe they could help (absolutely no affiliation)?

Sad to hear of your story.

You would probably take more of a loss on a rolller than if you sucked it up and found a replacement.
