This car was listed last week, I thought it was sold, then buyer's financing fell through. Afterward I waffled on selling and pulled it off of the market. Today, though, it's ready to go and better than ever as I have found my next car.

This Spyder was spec'd perfectly, in my opinion. Aqua Blue Metallic over black interior. Lightweight Carbon Buckets, manual transmission, Sport Chrono, PSE.

You can find the build list here: https://vinanalytics.com/car/WP0CB2A85CS745181/

I have a reproduction window sticker to go with the car, an extensive history of service (primarily oil, tires, brakes, etc, no major service ever needed).

The car received fresh oil and filter on 8/20 when the DME was run. An inspection was done on the car, though not a full PPI, and found no concerns. I was able to get some underbody photos which you'll find in the gallery.

In October of 2018 the car received all new brake pads and rotors all the way around. They have 2500 miles on them.

When I purchased the car it had been debadged, it now has its original silver stripes applied and only "Spyder" on the rear.

This was formerly a CPO car with the CPO warranty ending on 8/17. When I purchased the car it had 1585 of ignitions in Z1 and 11 in Z2, nothing in Z3-6. I'm happy to report as of yesterday the DME showed 1613 in Z1, 11 in Z2, and nothing in Z3-6.

I have both keys, manuals, and some Spyder promotional materials from Porsche.

In the gallery you'll find the PPI from last November when I bought the car. It had 30,900 miles on it at the time, I've only logged 2400.

Full front end Xpel wrap, mirrors wrapped, and lower rear fenders wrapped. The wrap does have a few chips in it, but it has done its job. When I purchased the car the stripes had been removed (as you'll see in some photos), but the car currently has its stripes installed.

There is one chip UNDER the Xpel, as shown in the gallery.

Only modification is a Numeric Racing shifter and Numeric Racing shift cables. I have the stock shifter which will come with the car, cables were replaced as preventative maintenance.

The top, the driving experience, the sounds, they're all glorious.

$59,000.

Car is located just outside of Portland, OR.

Less expensive to start with.

Not much difference but it's subjective outside of raw #'s.

On the road the 987 feels about 500lbs lighter than the 981. But as said, the 987s were $30k less when new.

987 has hydraulic steering where 981 is electric. Big difference there IMO.

987 also has the two-piece top, you can remove just the rear weather shield and enjoy fresh air but retain sun shade or rain cover. Exclusive to these.

I disagree about the feeling 500 lbs lighter on the road comment. Both cars feel very good from the drivers seat (I am a 981 Spyder/Cayman R owner)

The hydraulic steering is much better in the older car and as such the old car wins in the "handling" dept in terms of subjective feel.

That being said, the new car has better power, better brakes, better stability at speed. They're in somewhat different classes of cars to me.

The car being sold is driving perfection to me - I am a bit surprised its still available but most people don't really have an appreciation for Porsche's best models, IMO.

Honestly, the seating position and visibility difference could contribute to the feeling of weight, but it may just be perception.

Otherwise, 100% agree with everything you said.

Is seating position of 981 higher?

I felt that the belt line was lower in the 987, so more like relative to the seating position.

But that's for another thread, hopefully we can stay on topic of this classified posting with my car.

I own a 981 BS and have driven the 987 BS. Both are spectacular vehicles in their own right. As noted above, different animals. The 987 is a fantastic light-weight roadster and this is a rare and beautiful color - Aqua Blue Metallic is such an eye-catching color. My TTS is ABM and it gets lots of compliments. GLWS!
