Default 1975 Porsche 911 S

Model: 911
Cont. Porsche Models: 911
Mileage (numbers only please): 117700

Color: Red
VIN: 9115202123
Price (no $ sign please): $40000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (Region): NorthEast
Body Style: Coupe
Transmission Type: Manual - 5 speed
2 or 4 Wheel Drive?: 2 Wheel Drive
Engine Type: Fuel Injection
Stereo System: AM Radio

NEW PRICE! Up for sale is this absolutely low mileage 1975 Porsche S in Guards Red. This car has only 117,700 miles on the body and a brand new engine with only 145 miles. A brand new clutch was done the same time as the engine.

The main details:
  • 1975 Porsche S
  • Manual 5-speed
  • Guards Red Exterior
  • Black leather Interior
  • 117,700 miles on odometer; 145 on brand new engine
  • Rear Tail
  • Hi-Fi Stereo w/Bluetooth
  • Garage kept
This car has very little rust and no accident history. It has over $15k spent in the past year for a new engine – a 3.2 flat six from a 1987 911 Carrera and a new clutch. Meticulously maintained by the current owner, this car is in great condition. This car is NOT an OEM garage queen but a fine condition car from a rare year. Again - its not an OEM car but a well-maintained 911 from the 1970's.

The car has AC manifold delete for better air-intake, original spoiler, perfect dash, perfect condition seats, and documentation for maintenance on the car.

The car has the following upgrades:
  • New Engine (145 miles)
  • New Clutch (145 miles)
  • Car was repainted Guards Red
  • 17-inch Replica RS Sports wheels with Pirelli Tires
  • Porsche steering wheel (MOMO)
  • Borla Exhaust
  • Koni Shocks
Due to the rarity of the model year and low mileage of the car I’m asking $40,000 OBO. This new price is based on feedback I received from here and other forums.

Not trying to be rude, however, I think you may be overpriced a bit. You may also want to do some research on models in similar condition. It's a very nice looking ride!

Unless you're offering a price your post reply is useless.

I'm happy to hear what is a fair price for the car but just saying it's overpriced isn't constructive.

Not an expert but what is the rare part of this car?

I'll take a stab at this one.
100k+ miles, trim detail issues, lots of non-original parts including engine. Would be a rare car if all oem especially matching numbers engine.
My guess on sale price: under $40k.

Rare?? I would also pile a thousand miles or so onto it before selling. Most people shy away from a car with a fresh/rebuilt motor that hasn't been tested/broken in. Cool ride.

This is a tough crowd for hyperbole. I agree that it's "rare" in the sense that relatively few cars were made in '75 and fewer survived, but it's not really a "survivor" as it sits. Words like "unicorn," "rarity," "absolutely," "meticulously," etc. tend to have a discrediting effect. Worsened when the subject they describe belies them. I'd have said it was a mechanically-sound driver or something. The pics and objective facts are all you need. I found a couple comparable offerings around $30-35K. I'd go to $45 OBO and see what happens.

You could also fix some of the issues that are shown in the pictures. Sometimes you have to spend some $ in order to get $. For example, you could replace the lower bumper piece near the exhaust, or replace the torn bumper cover. Sometimes an easy fix goes along way with a potential buyer. A lot of buyers are looking for originality, and in your case, a set of fuch wheels would help do the trick. I saw you bumped this thread, so I thought I would try and help. These cars make it tough to figure out a correct value.
