Default Thank you email from Electrify America

A few minutes ago I received this lovely Thank You email from Electrify America

"We truly appreciate you being part of the Electrify America family, and are grateful for all the support you have given us. As part of our commitment to you...we’ll be increasing our per-kilowatt-hour (kWh) and per-minute pricing."

Lovely.

I agree tone-deaf - OMG EA is just so bad

we're rasiing our prices, but our chargers are still offline most of the time…

per-kWh pricing does not concern me
  • 3 years included 30 min charge sessions
  • I charge at home 98% of the time
  • for me fast charging while away from home is about saving time - not what I'm paying for each electron…my average savings at a fast charger is about 7.5 hours of charging time…so it's a big win.
but EA is awful - I'd love the supercharger network in North America to open up…

Did they really write that? If so, then fire the entire marketing department. I know kids in high school who know better than to write a so-called 'Thank You' letter like this.

That's not saying much in the current society of public education.

Yes, and that is the point. If a high school kid can do a better job than this marketing department, what does that say about the education level of the people running marketing.

It is not the raising of prices that I am commenting on. It is shoehorning it into a so-called "Thank You' letter at the same time!

Be happy. In response to a "job well done" so far, the gov't is about to throw additional billions at them...

Let's hope there will be meaningful standards of performance (reliable authentication, reliable speeds, uptime on each stall, etc.), and that there will be significant penalties if the standards are not upheld.

You get what you pay for. Even though I don’t have kids I don’t mind paying tax to fund education, because I don’t want to live in a society filled with morons. Unfortunately, it seems most states are in a race to the bottom in seeing who can raise the most uneducated future generation. Some day those morons will be running things, and we can all pat ourselves on the back.

Are you saying the government is giving them more money?

You mean like EA's "stellar" track record? Remember, it is our money! Yes, our money. In the sense EA is funded by the dieselgate penalties.

Meanwhile hotshot Harvard qualified Rhodes Scholar Mr. Buttigieg, Secretary of Transportation (the agency that is overseeing the electrification infrastructure) announced that he and his husband had become parents on August 17, 2021.

Me thinketh EA just does not care. And that should come as a shock (pun intended) to all of us.

I wasn't sure whether to put a "/s" at the end of my post or not.

The so-called and mis-named "Inflation Reduction Act", really a watered down Green New Deal in disguise, is going to shower the charging companies with billions of dollars over the next few years to expand public charging infrastructure. I really do hope they perform better than they have so far. But am not holding my breath waiting for it.

???? Why are you bringing up who he marries? What on Earth does this have to do with where your car can charge?
