His company is not going EV. There’s a whole lot more ICE than EV.

Just a fad
[QUOTE=Dr. G7;18575515]
Yes, I remember in the early 1980's when I was told home microcomputers was a passing fad and never would affect the jobs of programmers for mainframes. This was repeatedly told to me by expert mainframe programmers.
I remember in the 1990's when I went to the printing conferences (by the way, Hell make a hell of a printing machine) and I was told just because laser printers were now upgrading from 300-600 DPI than no-one was going to do all their printing in-house. Told to me when there were over a dozen print shops in my town, Today there is only one.
I remember in the 2000's when I was when I was told, digital cameras would never replace film cameras. Today I see all the shelves of the photo companies full of digital cameras and the few film camera that still are for sales I could buy a cheap car for the same money.
I remember in the 2010's when I was told 3D printers were a fad, and nobody but hobbyists would find any use for them. Today a number of companies use those same 3D printers to make very expensive parts.
Do you see a pattern?

Absolutely correct! Somewhere I read ICE manufacturers and oil companies are in “collusion” to discredit EV. I know that sounds like conspiracy nut comment. But if you look at even Porsche which has a winner in the Taycan, all they promote is 911 this and 911 that. Look at the current issue of Christophorus. Exception is Porsche NA CEO, he drives a Taycan. But grandpa Porsche, Wolfgang, always is in a 911 series.

Yes, you'd think someone who made his fortune in the Publishing biz should have known how to split it into paragraphs. But that was his blogging style. If you want to skip some of the Tesla fanboi-ism, search for "Let’s take a look at the awl bidness".
(Wow - I hadn't looked at his evtv.me site in a while. Clearly showing signs of lack of attention these days.)

“I’ve never HEARD of anyone riding in a Tesla who did not immediately conclude that they wanted the car“
Hmmm
I’ve had extended drives in both the S and X. No thanks. Even if they gave me one. Answer is yet, no thanks.

That’s one painful read. Best car ever made is a Tesla?

His points about the vested interests doing everything they can to delay the inevitable seem to be playing out.

For anyone in S. OC, the Irvine Spectrum EA location (8 stalls) is being updated to the latest hardware, its offline, looked like the chargers are all installed. The unit on the far left still has CHADEMO + the old style dispenser.
Oddly, the station shows in the porsche app as having stalls available.

So I'd had relatively good luck charging my Taycan at EA stations in Orange County. There is one EA station with 4 chargers that has 1-2 car waiting per charger and those chargers were charging at 60-70kW. The EA station one that I've gone to 4 times now has 3 chargers (only 2 work) and the wait is about 5-15 minutes and I get charging at 100-130kW (got 58kW in 30 minutes yesterday after my open house).

I'm in Peachtree County. No need to guess, Peachtree County, Georgia, USA.

Orange County, CA....make specifically around Irvine, CA. I'll be driving out to Las Vegas, NV to see my dad for Easter next Thursday so I'll get a chance to check out the EA charging network off the 15 freeway and in Las Vegas.
