Default Taycan GTS allocation

I've been looking around California, and it seems like most dealers want 15-25k adm for cars already in inventory or for a confirmed build slot for September delivery.

I found a couple that'll take a deposit for MSRP allocation in the future...9-12 months estimated.

Is this the new reality these days? Anyone have any insights on how to do better?

I'd prefer to configure my own car...at MSRP...and not have to wait a year...

Thanks in advance

2022 model year is sold out — all build slots accounted for. So, yes, this very much the world at the moment. When fuel prices shot up, that sealed the deal.

Most dealers have pretty extensive lists for the 2023 model year. Slots will be hard to come by. So, Spring 2023 sounds about right and consistent with what I have been hearing.

If you want one now or sooner, you’re looking at ADM.

Porsche has already signaled that all 2023 cars will have a substantial price increase due to supply chain issues and inflation around the globe. A modest ADM now may be a better deal than waiting.

Yep I’m afraid this is the reality based on the three dealers I work with nationally (large east and west coast dealers). One of my dealers is in CA. I’ve bought several cars from them and referred a ton of business to them. I negotiated my 2022 TTS deal (5% off) back in the summer of 21 and they could have easily gotten 25k ADM for the car so the delta was legit. I agree we will see large price increases in 2023 MY. All of the large boat manufacturers have started doing this (in some cases retroactively) so auto is next.

My local dealer has a June allocation if you're interested. They are an over MSRP dealer. They are asking $22,500 over.

Thanks for the responses. It does seem like this is where the market is roughly at. I did find several cars available at 15-20k adm. Good point about the '23 price increase possibilities - I hadn't considered that.

Do people have a ballpark on the MY23 price increase? Are we talking about 5%, 10%, 20%?

It’s April. Given the world that we are in, they are keeping the actual increases close to the chest. North of 10% is a very strong possibility considering materials costs. Look at Tesla and Rivian price increases this year already.

Does anyone have any idea when the price increase on the 2023 models will go into effect. I am planning on ordering a car in June and hope it will still be 2022 pricing, so I am not sure if the price will be set when I put in my order in June or when I take delivery?

Typically the next model year goes into production in September.
