Title of the thread is a bit mis leading. I was wanting to get longer term 4S and turbo owners opinions. How long have you had your car and are you still impressed with it now as much as you were on delivery. Normally with faster vehicles I get used the the acceleration quickly and would itch for more. However I'm not sure if it would be the same or not with electric vehicles as the power delivery is so much different then that of ice cars. Was looking to consolidate my toy and daily into one car as I only drive my toy about 1-2 times a month.
I didn't like at first cause i missed the sound.....but the more i drive the more i love. Yesterday i drove my Huracan to get the oils going during winter and it's a complete let down...where is the instant torque? Why is it so noisy? I am confused and super torn. Why do I like the Taycan so much....i am a combustion guy and my other cars are superb ICE cars....yet i always want to drive Taycan ...how can that happen? I am a 911 bigot... My taycan turbo S is really superb...my plan was to get a 992 Turbo S but now i am doubting i will ever buy an ICE new car...it's just like a couple of years ago i bought the 1965 coronet 440 my dad bought new and gave to me when I turned 16. All these great memories but when i drove it it was let down...this was not how i remembered it...i am starting to feel the same way about my ICE cars....what the h*ll? 😁
^This! Sans the Huracan and 992 Turbo S. Love my 4S. The issues are with the backend systems and the supply chain logistics associated wit the car. I think the supply chain will sort itself out..... The backend systems and software are gonna take a lot longer. Porsche builds a GREAT car. They are nascent players in the software space. And it shows!

the bugaboo with the taycan is the EA charging situation. charging can be problematic because of the wonkiness of the different aps that need to be employed to access the fast charging at the EA stations and the reliability of those EA stations. being able to charge is sometimes a roll of the dice, having to jockey the car from unit to unit and having to call the EA support line to get them to force the unit to charge. while this video is about the VW EV, the charging issues described apply to the taycan.
I have a Taycan Turbo S and love it! I've had multiple EVs, including two Teslas. The Taycan is leaps and bounds better in comparison. As it relates to fun, it's my family hauler and daily driver, but I have been driving it the most. Until recently, I also had a supercharged Huracan Performante (being replaced with a 765LT). I also have a 992 Turbo S on the way to use as a longer distance GT car. If I had to have one fun car that also served as a DD AND I didn't need leg room in the back for my kids, I'd go with the 992 Turbo S.
I've owned since September 2020.
Likes: still not many around; styling, size, capacity, speed, range, brand, build quality, handling.
Neutral: sound (preferred the Tesla), battery charging speed on home charger (also found it easier and faster on the Tesla).
Dislikes: software, charger box that comes with the car, unidentified air rushing sound on some occasions (not speed, mostly sideways wind), weight.
Wishes: Carbon Fiber roof.
Can you please describe this a bit more? I'm considering a Taycan.
