Spyders in the Wild...

These cars rock. The driver of an extensively modified 987 Cayman in my run group came to me during a break and wanted to know what Id done to make my car so much quick than his. My response was basically new tires, IPD, and an exhuast. Which from what i can gather from the conversation was similar upgrades he'd already done. Driver skill aside (I consulted a coach for a few laps yesterday btw) I think it goes to show how complete a package these cars are, and how Porsche is genius at incremental changes to make significantly different products.
In short you cant always replicate the improvements they make to "special" Porsche cars in the aftermarket, theres always gonna be something missing.

Great shots there. Thanks for posting along with your feedback. Chuckwalla is a fantastic. Glad you are showing the track folks just how good these cars are "right out of the box." There is very little you can do to these, that the factory has not already done, to make them faster, quicker etc.

Spyder - GT3 RS -Cayman s
Heres a couple laps around Chuckwalla in the 987 Spyder. Not quite enough for the 16 GT3 RS, but I still think I'm competitive in the corners. The Cayman S is quite a car which made for some entertaining chase laps.

It's Modjeska Grade Road in Modjeska Canyon, one of three canyons in Orange County (Trabuco Canyon and Silverado Canyon being the other two) that sort of border the Cleveland National Forest.
While our canyon roads pale in comparison to Ortega Highway to the south or Angeles Crest to the north, they're still pretty nice and just a few minutes from the suburban sprawl that is Orange County .

Sometimes I take her out on the town and risk parking her in the street.. that's what cars are for right?..
but then, as I walk away I have to turn around and stare... and then I'm late for dinner.

I know I should chill out more, but I'm afraid I could never relax and enjoy my dinner if I knew some clueless clown was parked THAT close to my front bumper!!

Or... I can just enjoy the car as it was meant to be enjoyed... simply by using it.
