Rsv4 is one of my favorite bikes.. Amazing engine (the Spyder is nice too) ;-)
Agreed sir. Not only the motor but so is the telepathic handling. I can't even imagine what the newer more powerful motors with 200 plus horsepower feel like!
I just picked up a Spyder a couple of weeks ago and wanted to share. I'm coming from a 16' TT and wanted a summer time ride while I wait for my 17' TTS.
This thing has me thinking twice about getting the TTS! So. Much. Fun.
I shed a few tears the day I had to sell my RSV4. Even more the day I had to sell my nearly new GS.
I feel your pain. Recently parted with my MV Agusta Brutale S, Ducati Paul Smart, and BMW 1200 GS Adventure.
After over 40 years of injury free/accident free sport/adventure riding I felt I had pushed my luck about as far as I wanted to. Plus, in the last year or so I've noticed a slight drop off in my reaction time - - certainly nothing major, but not a good thing to have if riding bikes. Age spares no one these indignities and there's no use pretending your reflexes are what they once were.
The sales of the bikes helped fund my Spyder and, as such, I don't have as much seller's remorse as I thought I would. Totally enjoying the Spyder and while the top down experience hardly replicates the openness of two-wheel riding, at this point in my life it is close enough for me.
