Installed manifolds last night start to finish about 3-4 hour job

The removal of the stock manifolds very straight forward , o2 sensor cables were pia because not very accessible.

The install of new manifolds a bit more tricky bc of size difference and bends make it more time consuming to install 9 bolts
Need to have several 1/4 " wobble extensions and a knuckle

Have not driven the car yet but will do over the weekend and have a Dyno session scheduled for next Friday

Hope to have the painted roll bars back tonight or tmrw and will shoot some pics of that

Being that I have zero confidence in my ability to accomplish such a job (bow down), how much do you think it would cost (more or less) to install new headers in my spyder at a REPUTABLE place?

Well I would consider us rather reputable and we charge about 2hrs on average. It's up to the shop in general depending on their comfort level, but that's what I show in my labor guide

Is that you, John? Thanks for the quick (and honest) reply. Don't know about other parts of the US, but we've got a lot of sharks here in sunny Miami. Just preparing myself before taking my first dive into spyder mods! I've almost convinced myself to take away my dear spyder's stock "virginity" and get the sport headers. Will probably be visiting my local installer this weekend.

I would feel confident doing it a second time in two hours

And I would only charge you a nice bottle of cab

It's really not that hard , having lift makes all the difference

I would not have attempted it on my back w jack stands

Virginity is a state of mind.. A tampon ****'s t up. Those headers are an easy bolt on which will transform your car.. Would you rather a quiet girl or one who feels comfortable screaming when you've really given it to her good?

Jokes aside, call around to different shops and get a quote... Even here in SF I paid $240 for 2 hours labor.. Super easy job with a lift

I'm also thinking about aftermarket wheels. I've looked for some time but haven't found any threads showing aftermarket wheels on Spyders, as opposed to GT4/GT3/RS, except for kitwetzler's white Spyder a bunch of pages back. Have I not looked in the right places, or has there not been a thread with aftermarket wheels on Spyders?

Would love to see some aftermarket wheels on 981 Spyders! (please feel free to post pics!)
