Platinum Silver with Carrera Red, heck yeah. I approved. James Dean approved.

The only odd thing is the black shifter and boot. I understand why they did it. Probably won't look good with red leather neither with the black stack of switches. I am not any sort of designer, but to me, same material and texture should have the same color.

On my Spyder

Yeah, the spyder doesn't start to sing until above 4500rpm as well. I can't wait to hear what it sounds like on the 981 when it is broken in.
Not much difference in height, much bigger difference in 20's vs the 19's I have. The 20's do look better.

Great looking cars, big fan of the spyder and 981S!

I could see the 981 looking just amazing with a lowered stance on those factory 20s.

Platinum Silver with that Red top and interior is amazingly classy. I still prefer the simpler lines of the 987 based cars but that 2013 Boxster S is still quite the looker!

Nice shots Joe. I too love Plat Silver (My C4S is GT silver and I too wondered about the premium I paid after they released Plat silver) and the warmth brought out by the earthy tone works very well with the Carrera red interior.
Your take on the 981 is very interesting ( as you have been such a fan of the spyder ). That's the problem with Porsche. They just keep making good cars. The 981 spyder may not be that far out as one might think.

Put the factory rims back on Joe's car and there is no question for me that the Spyder is the better looking car!!! Even more so with the top on!!!

Thanks, Craig! The factory rims really are one of the best looking wheels out there for sure. While the TE37s work well as an 18" track wheel, the factory rims still win. Although I think the spyder looks better with the top off rather than on.

Both cars look great! The new Boxster S is amazing. I am going to need to trade in my '03 S for this new one. Porsche did an amazing job on it.

I agree with your top-off comment 100%. Should you ever need to have the top on, though, no Boxster will ever look as good as a Spyder!!!!!

Orthojoe, great pics! Man, the new Boxster looks fantastic. I need to test drive one soon. Sonnen has a few others in stock (including a stick), and I think I will swing by soon to take one out for a spin . . . .
