Thanks. I'll make sure to mention it for my appointment.

When I was at a concours a couple of weeks ago another Spyder owner had also mentioned this. Something about the deflector coming loose and flying off.

Mine is on very tight and I'm not getting any rattles so I don't know what to make of it or if I should ask the dealer to change it anyways?

Supposedly there are two other recalls on the Spyder but I can't remember what they are.

i get a faint whistle that is only noticeable with the window down. it seems to be coming from the mirror housing.

Here is a few photos of the culprit... ignore the dirt. I have yet had time to wash her since it rained here a while back.

That piece looks intentional to me. It almost looks like it was added to help guide water down the A Pillar instead of down the window?

I can post pictures of mine if you think it will help, just let me know.

Yeah, that would be awesome if you post some shots for some comparison. It would at least let me know if it's a Mid cycle change for 2012 or if it's the exact same between 2011 and 2012 and it's something else making the noise that I'm not aware of.
Thanks for your help,
Donavan

Default i will show you mine

Mine looks to be the same part as yours, maybe not cupped as much (yet).

I do think it would still work if that tab was trimmed.

Does the whistle disappear if the tab is flattened out? There is also a drain hole just to the front of the cupped tab, perhaps that creates the whistle?

Here are a few pictures of mine. From what I can tell they all look the same.

John,

I have this exact same problem. It's only on the passenger side as well. Let me know if you find a solution to this problem. When the weather protector is on, the problem goes away.

So I managed to experiment a little and it isn't the seals. It's the mirrors after all.

Thanks for everyone's assistance.

I noticed mine only when it got warm enough to drive with the windows down - whistles at about 50+
