Default Sport bucket seat adjust

is it just me, or do the sport buckets sit "high"

is there a way to lower the seats

my wife even complained that you're sitting up too high

I have a solution... You drive to Oregon and we swap seats so you have full seat adjustment with the Sport Seats I have in my Riviera

I guess it depends on how tall you are. At 5'8" I like the height exactly where it is now. I know the passenger side seat sits higher which is probably why my wife who's shorter doesn't complain about the height.

I guess it's all relative.

One thing you can do is remove the bottom seat cushion if you intend to track the car and need to fit into the car with a helmet when the roof is on.

Does the passenger seat really sits higher? For what purpose?

I don't know if this has anything to do with seat heights in Porsches? But, my brother bought a Bentley Supersports and wanted the seats raised. Both seats had no height adjustment just like the Spyder. Bentley told the dealer they were not allowed to raise the seats unless my brother signed a waiver that Bentley was not responsible in case of accident. Apparently Bentley did all their safety crash tests with the seats fixed. Bentley said they would be in safety violation with the NHSTA if they raised the seats. Had to do with airbags etc. My brother signed the waiver and they raised the seats. This could be BS from Bentley but they wouldn't raise the seats until that waiver was signed.

On the other hand, my Ferrari Scuderia came with fixed seats (no height adjustment). But Ferrari designed 3 slots to raise or lower the seats. This was not a DIY. Needed to be done by the dealer but no wavier needed to be signed.

I'm 5' 11", and I thought so. They seemed great in the 997, but too high in the Spyder and Cayman R.

That's why I spec'd the P77s in my Cayman R - certainly not as a 'value' proposition.

After 61 years feeling 'short' among my peers, I finally understand why I am only 5 '7''. I was meant to be at the perfect height on these carbon fiber sport bucket seats in my upcoming '12 Spyder! Car arrived at dealer this morning. Will post photos when I get them. Saludos, z356

Germans are certainly taller, on average, than most of us Cubans. But we have exceptions too. Look at Fidel. That will be (I hope soon) one large coffin! Saludos, z356

When I was younger I wished I was taller. As I get older I realize that being shorter (5'8") I can easily fit into any smaller sports cars and now I'm glad I'm not tall.

I was wiping the Spyder down after my drive on Sunday and noted that the passenger seat does sit higher than the drivers seat.

Do Rennline or Brey-Krause not make a new seat mount that may help?

good idea, I'll check

going to live with the sport buckets

it's just that at PSDS they teach you to get your seat as low as possible

Just found this thread searching on this topic. Just started to put some miles on my new-to-me Spyder with the buckets and they seem really high. With the (massive) steering wheel set where I like it (low) I can't see half the tach. Not the end of the world, but surprised how high the seats sit off the floor as it slightly defeats the point.

Has anyone found a workable solution to lower the seats?
