Well, there is much more to that week in October 2011 here in Carmel than just Rennsport! The reason PCNA offered Laguna Seca 'Rennsport IV' is that the 'Porsche Race Car Classic' was already scheduled for October 16th at Quail Lodge! This will be a one day, once-in-a-lifetime, gathering of famous Porsche Race cars that has been OVER three years in the planning! It has full PAG factory support and top Porsche officials from Germany will be in attendance (including one with the name of Wolfgang that sits on the Board). It is thanks to this event that PAG and PCNA decided to give Laguna Seca an opportunity to host 'Rennsport IV', the first time this event has been allowed to go 'West'.

PRCC is an expensive ticket @ $400, but fully $350 is tax deductible since all proceeds go to a registered charity (lung cancer research). The format is similar to The Quail in August - gourmet dining, unlimited wine, etc. They are bringing famous period drivers like Hans Hermann & Jurgen Barth. Porsche is also air-freighting some of its historic cars from its new Zuffenhausen museum. It will attract the likes of Jerry Seinfeld and serious Porsche collectors from Europe, the Americas and Asia. Almost none of the 170+ special cars coming for the PRCC will be at Rennsport. So if you want to see these special cars, you will have to attend this Sunday-only event.

I will be at Rennsport on Friday and Saturday...and PRCC on Sunday. On that final day of Rennsport, Laguna Seca will feature 911 Cup car racing. So you will not miss any 'historic' vintage racing if are at the Porsche Race Car Classic on Sunday! Saludos, z356
