Default Spyder built in Finland or Germany

Anyone know if the 2011 Boxster Spyder is built in Finland or Germany?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm also curious if it will be painted in the new paint booth or the current one.

I believe my car was built in Germany. It certainly got loaded onto the ship in Germany.

I was in Zuffenhausen last month and I saw Boxsters on the 911 line, including one spyder. The guide mentioned that they moved Boxster production from Finland after 2008 because of lower 911 (and everything else) volumes. Caymans are still made in Finland.

Don't know details on your paint shop, but they mentioned they were upgrading it. This probably means future cars will use it. Zuffenhausen is so small that even if they wanted to, they couldn't have separate facilities for Boxsters.

The VIN should say, right? If "S", then Germany. If "U" is Finland.

Zuffenhausen for now. In time they will be moving production to Austria.

My window sticker said final assembly was in Stuttgart; Engine and Transmission, Germany; Parts content were 3% US/Canada and 65% Germany.

I love it more each time I drive it.
