Default 987.2 Spyder Rear "Sunscreen Panel"

Greetings,

I have my Spyder now and am absolutely loving it. I have a quick question about the rear panel (the second piece to the sunshade). It seems like the way this fits in underneath the trunk (particularly in the center) that rain would seep through to the trunk. I know that the primary sunshade overhands the secondary by a few inches but was curious how this works to drain water away from the trunk when it would appear that run-off is directed to the trunk?

Thanks,

G.

Someone here must know the answer to this question. Would appreciate any insights. Thank you!

If I recall correctly there are drains in the area that lead away but I have to look and see.

There are indeed. Think of it like a Jeep that doesn’t suck.

If you drive the car in the rain with the top up and the weather protector installed, you may get some water either in the cabin or in the rear. It's designed to "provide adequate protection against adverse weather conditions and rain up to a maximum speed of 93 mph." The actual trunk should stay dry however.

If water does get in under the weather protector and into the back area, there are drains with little screens to get rid of the water. Despite all this clever engineering, if its raining, take another car.

Thanks for all the responses. I see the drains and have attached two pictures of how the reap panel protector tucks into the trunk. In one picture, it is tucked behind the top storage partition and in the other it is tucked on top. It looks like it needs to be ticked behind for the drains to work but wanted to confirm how you have been doing it.

Much appreciaed.

Best,

G.

The second picture with it tucked down is the correct fitment. I ran our Spyder in some serious rain and never had any issues with water ending up in the wrong place. Just keep your drains nice and clean
