I'll weigh in again (pun intended, weight saving cars), great thread, thank you, tons (another weight reference) of info, especially some of the magazine and newspaper articles, I'll pose this question, I note the Tim Cupp press packet info (shown above) on the fuel tank in the weight saving section (has been mentioned now and then) states 2011 Boxster Spyder fuel tank is 14.3 gallons and a 2010 Boxster S fuel tank is 17.7 gallons, thus weight saving. My owners manual, a 2011 Spyder states I have 17.17 gallons (14.57 + 2.6 reserve) and the 2010 Boxster S has 16.9 gallons (14.3 + 2.6 reserve). someone clarify, thank you
I would assume that the "reserve" isn't added to the overall capacity but the remaining volume of fuel in the tank when the fuel level gauge reads "E". That would make sense given that I can fill the tank, go on a spirited canyon drive and be back on E right quickly. If I've only burned 12ish gallons and I'm averaging 9mpg, that's about right in my mind.
Confirming the numbers I had for the various bumper grille inserts are correct and supply is available. Note that all of the parts supplied were made in 2011 so based on my experience with the ‘93 Turbo 3.6, you buy and put special parts in a stash rather than hope there is stock later on.
Can someone post of list of all the small parts/trim pieces that are unique to the Spyder, so we can order these spares while they are still available?

See post 51 & 56 above, that covers the front pieces that would likely wear with time.
Funny how few pictures of this car exist on the web. You would think this car would show up at car events regularly.
Can anyone identify this car? I think this is a new one to add to the PTS list as I don't think that's the standard Guards red. Doesn't it look orange?:
