Also, all of the lighter parts not associated with the convertible on the Spyder (roof/rear deck/side windows/tank/vent) are also on the Cayman R.
Remembering when these came out, when I custom ordered mine with no radio-A/C, and the only sway difference was the rear sway on the R. Otherwise they all have the PASM sways.
Porsche's numbers on the R were accurate, listed at 2855 lb. (in which they assumed all lightest components) and my R weighed in at 2860 without A/C-Radio-PCCB-fuel as a ref.
Thanks! That confirms I was looking at the wrong diagram. post updated. Did you just happen to know those parts, or are you referencing a source that I can access as well? I'd like to verify other parts I have listed as well as add some more.
Yw. I knew the parts from being into all the differences with the R/Spyder back when I ordered my car, plus researching what to legally change for club tracking the car.
While Suncoast gets a lot business for parts, I've found Gaudin often has better parts info. and better prices. (No afil., I hyperlinked the parts which takes you to Gaudin)
Did all Spyders come from the factory with 5mm spacers on all four corners? I'm thinking the one I just acquired does not have spacers fitted...
Spyders did not come from the factory with spacers. The wheels were made specifically for the Spyder so the offsets were engineered into the wheel. That being said, there are some owners that have added spacers to push the wheels out a touch.

Good to know. Thanks for the quick response.

So if it was chosen as an option, I presume it would be on the window sticker or VIN detail? It's not under options on mine so I'm thinking they weren't ordered on it.

Correct, if it was ordered on the build it would be on the window sticker. Many got them later through the parts dept.
Really? I thought for sure these were standard, but now that I look up the part, it specifically says not for “19” spyder wheel” https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/p...m/00004450009/
maybe the spyder wheels include a 5mm offset in the design?

They definitely were not standard. I have my original build sheet and spacers are not noted and were not included.

Yes, the spacers were on the order form as an option. They were also an option on the configurator.
The spacers you're referencing are probably not the same ones that were offered on the R/Spyder, possibly due to the concentric ring size.
I remember specifically because my track wheels had a lower offset (more outward position) so I didn't order them.
The stock 18's on the S's were 57(f)/43(r) offset.
The R/Spyder wheels were unique to those cars and were 55(f)/42(r) offset.
A note to make, there are quite a bit of incorrect facts on Rennlist at times, it's wise to double check if the source isn't available.
Ding ding ding winner! That’s why this thread was started. To vet the facts from the rumors and become a goto source for FAQ. I’ve already updated about a dozen things that have been corrected. I’m sure there’s a ton more to go...
Speaking of the configurator, does anyone know if the original microsite was archived and can still be accessed? I remember using the R microsite and printing a bunch of the images back in the day, but I never saw the original spyder site.
