A question for Boxster Spyder owners
987.2 Boxster Spyder owners, I'm in the web since the fall of 2018, an artic silver over black 2011, PDK sport chrono with "sofas" Love this car my best ever, still keep in my "stable" an '89 951. Have owned G50 911's and a Boxster. So, my question (is it a dumb?) Why do some owners of the 987.2 delete Boxster off the rear lid and keep Spyder (centered of course)? Was it a factory option to delete Boxster?

Yes - as you know the Boxster Spyder is all about weight. I have the "Boxster" delete on the rear lid and all Boxster Spyder interior references removed, as well as AC delete, Cup Holder delete, and Headlight Washer delete. I must have one of the fastest Spyders around!
P.s. In truth, I think we just like it better with the simple "Spyder" script on the read lid. Glad to hear you are enjoying it! Drive the PDK in manual mode?

I think it looks better. How many cars have two two spelled-out names on them? It was a pet peeve of mine that the font didn't seem to work either with the p and the y hanging down and nothing in Boxster below the line.
They never called it a Boxster Cayman...

Kinda makes you wonder why they didn’t call the GT4 the Cayman GT4.

I need to do this to mine. What do you guys use to make sure it's centered correctly?

There are Spyders, and then there are Spyders. Ages ago, I had a 1964 Corvair Spyder convertible, with the turbocharged flat six. All that is left of that experience is a spare piece of trim on display in my "shrine". I always did like the look of that font.

While I "only" have a 987.2 base Boxster and purchased it broken in, it didn't have the Boxster logo on the rear and looks like it never did. I like the script logo, though, and will eventually put it on.
