Recently purchased a 2011 987.2 Porsche Boxester
Spyder and the car has the exhaust icon (sports exhaust
button) on the left side of the center dash. Does that
mean that the car is equipped with approx. 3,000 sports
exhaust system option even though it does not say that
information anywhere on the window sticker?

option could be retrofitted to a Spyder after delivery.
But either way, you should be happy with your new
'Boxester'!

PS The sport exhaust on my custom ordered
'12 Spyder was $2810 & worth it!

No worries.
My 2011 Spyder did not come with the sports exhaust so I had my dealer retrofit it. Except for PSE option not being on the window sticker you can not tell that the car wasn't built with it.

Z356...... that is a crazy build on your 12 spyder !! great color combo. who would have thought...
makes me think of when i ordered my 2016 GT3RS in Miami Blue and all everyone thought i lost my mind. haha
john weires.... confirmed from BH Porsche that the car is equipped with the sport exhaust and a short shifter and warranty until 4/18 all things i did not know at time of purchase and i suspect either did the seller !!

believe how much he loved it!
The colors work surprisingly well.
And that was when the available
red leather interior was the brighter
'Carrera Red':
The currently offered red interior is the
darker 'Bordeaux Red' & that works even
better with the closest metallic blue to
'Aqua' today - 'Sapphire'! And it's offered
only with the dual tone with 'Black' leather
(dash & top of door panels) & 'Black' carpeting.
A vast improvement over what was offered
to us in MY2012, although my 'Carrera Red'
was the higher grade 'Natural' leather...which
'Bordeaux' is not! Here is that combo today
in a .2 991 GTS (9ELOVIN's):

987 Spyders were ordered as
spec by dealers in the US. And
we could write a book on how/
why US dealers order cars in
odd configurations that often defy
logic and/or good business sense!
Early on when the 987 Spyder was
still in production & arriving at US
dealerships, I started the following
thread (see below) that might shed
some light on how these Spyders
were actually ordered by US dealers
as I found then in inventory (I went
to each dealer website in the US!)
at one set date point in time:
Number of Unsold Spyders in Dealer Inventory is Huge!

Just for the record, I did not start this thread...
This thread was started by robertmzadeh with
this post on the 991 forum:
At some point on Sept 13th the OP deleted his first
(original) post. By mistake (and perhaps default),
the Rennlist system has the first responder below
the OP 'assume' ownership of the thread. This is
wrong & not very well thought out by the Rennlist
programmers nor the moderators. Then the latter
(moderator) moved the entire thread to this forum!
Not a good idea or process in my opinion. And
one which leads to confusion and/or mischief.

And hope all is well in Scottsdale Eduardo. We will be in Monterey the beginning of October, was hoping to drive across the new bridge to Nepenthe but the opening has been delayed so we will drive to the Community Bypass Trail and use the shuttle on the other side!

where robertmzadeh started his thread - which
was the 991 forum! In this particular case, I
think the OP's question has merit & we don't
need to delete the whole thread even though
he has gone missing. It might be of use to
others asking the same question. But I leave
it up to you to decide.
While we are at it & have you a moderator's ears,
let me tell you that I am having trouble accessing
all the 'smilies' for posting. If I press 'more', I get
a pop up but it doesn't allow me to choose any of
them nor are they pictured as before!
And when trying to review a thread, the system
pulls me down to some 'commercial' video that
starts to play without any prompting on my part.
Kind of sneaky of them. This is the video (with
loud music & speaking voices which often startles
you!) to where I was directed seconds ago....
without asking for it. It is found at bottom of
this page (see insert directly below):
And often, as I tried to get to a portion of a thread
to read it so that I can frame my response correctly,
the page automatically keeps switching me up & down,
and doesn't allow me to go where I want to go! Or worse,
takes me to the damn ad video at the bottom of the page
& starts it playing! It's forced advertising that has no
place on Rennlist, especially for those that pay to be
Rennlist members!
Frankly it is all pretty damn annoying...and I do not
think I am the only one experiencing this Rennlist
'Twilight Zone' right now! Let me know if you as a
moderator are aware of the issues and if you can
pass my negative feedback to higher ups the food
chain. Hopefully someone is working to correct it
& get it back to 'normal'. But if the latter is the
new 'Normal', we have a serious problem here &
many Rennlist regulars are not going to be pleased!

I moved last April to Scottsdale, so I am not in Carmel
any longer. But I will be back there for Rennsport VI,
so hopefully I'll run into you next year in September!
If you are ever in Scottsdale, send me a note so we
can get together!

I am having the same issues regarding going up or down or to the ad. I assume it's a bug....will see.
As to the exhaust question I assumed whomever moderated it thought his question would be better answered in the forum specific to the model. Still have no ideal how if the OP deleted his first post, the whole thread did not get deleted.
Pretty funny, I edited my post to add Scottsdale to it, while you where replying! We will send a note if your area.
