Hi, ok made an error, the 2L Mantis sump is 1.5" thick, so 1.5"- .625"= .875" or 7/8 " deeper than a stock pan. We did not test the 1.2 pan as We are racing, the 1.2 L was meant for 996/997. To give those a bit more ground clearance since the engine hangs off back. The mid engines not an issue. More oil is the plan. The 1.2 L sump is 1" thick.

We run the X51 pan only. We had the 3 qt accusump but after taking advice from Drake and Gladwill we removed the 35lb anchor from the trunk, turns out the auto valve was broken anyways thus leaving the accusump useless. The fast guys don't run the deep pan, or an accusump if that tells you anything. Allso we've heard (and it makes logical sense) that you run the risk of scraping/cracking the deep pan since it sticks out further. The X51 is the same "pan" but with different baffles and we've chipped our pan by an off track field day at VIR.

A little bit of math I did:
The 1.2L pan is 0.95cm lower than stock to add 1.2L oil so it adds 1.2/0.95 = 1.26 liters per 1cm of lost clearance.
The 2L pan is additional 1.27cm lower than the 1.2L pan to add 0.8L oil so it adds only 0.8/1.27 = 0.63 liters per 1cm of lost clearance.
Looks like the first added 1.2 liters cost the least amount of lost clearance. The extra 0.8 liters in the 2L pan come at a much larger cost in lost clearance, making the 1.2L pan a reasonable compromise. Thoughts?

Probably not this year . I will be there and am hoping to drive (trying for the first time since surgery next weekend) but know I won't be competitive given where my health is at right now.
I will be surprised if I run every session to be honest.
If you guys are worried about hitting the Mantis deep sump pan, fab skid plate. In 18,000 miles of racing, with many offs , not scratch on mine.Oops, we have had 3 versions on the car Not saying it cant happen. Its flush with frame rails on the cayman and boxsters. I actually went back into the shop and double checked. Yes, its above the frame rails, the 2l sump.
Because of the way that the accusump is plumed, the oil filter ends up being the low spot on mine. Five years ago at the NJMP race, I got pushed inside on a start and straddled the curb in 1. It put a pinhole in the filter that sprayed oil directly on the LR tire. I couldn't figure out there all the oversteer came from until I got back to the paddoc.
