Default Spec Boxster in California

This class has really grown in California, PCA is racing in Sonoma July 3-4 with 13 cars and POC is racing the following weekend in Sonoma with 20 different cars. There is easily over 40 Spec Boxsters in California. Would be great to get the two to have a few races together a year, there would be a huge turnout.

Any difference in car specifications between PCA and POC? Just curious?

The POC follows the PCA rules except for the following exceptions. We allow the plastic undertray under the driver side, this is to protect the power steering lines, We have some tracks with gravels and small rocks that have caused damage to lines in the past. We allow a maximum of 91 Octane for fuel,. We have a tire rule that allows only 1 new set of tires per race weekend. We have Spec Boxster Committee members stamp these prior to qualifying. The link is below and the difference is highlighted in yellow

And, Hoosiers rather than the Toyo spec tire, correct?

No, we run the PCA spec tire, TOYO RR and are subject to their tire contingency plan. You may be thinking of some of the GT classes that allow HP based on different DOT rated tires

I got to see some great racing last Saturday (3 July) at Sears Point. And to see some friends. Thanks for the show!

I have some young friends here in the SF Bay Area that are interested in racing, Porsches and likely future Spec Boxster racing.

One of them will be looking for a project "starter" car in the next few months. I will ask him to start a thread here when he officially starts his search.
