After a year of waiting today was the day! Finally installed my painted hard backs from Waldemar. Quality is top notch! I was a bit surprised by the fact I had to put them together, terrified actually, as I didn't even know what the heck a hog ring was before yesterday. After a few beers, countless F bombs, walking away for the night, watching Rocky, and telling myself I could do it they are done! I'm not a very handy dude which I freely admit. The toughest part of the whole endeavor was fitting the leather and learning how to use the hog ring pliers. Never having stretched leather there was a fair amount of unknown so the anxiety was high as these cost a fair sum and the expectation is they are perfect. Well it took a couple days from start to finish and I'm really glad for the experience. Proved to myself I can actually be useful!
it was like a new car after! These seat fit me so perfect and it is by far the most comfortable I have been in a 993. So glad I took the plunge on them!

Well, I may have snapped the airbag bolts while trying to remove the steering wheel. Hoping this can be resolved with T30 or T27 driver vs the T25 I was using. Objective of this is to remove tach (and other gauges) for LED upgrades.
Also, installing:
- valves for LPMM mod - to shut off bypass pipe to keep neighbours happy
- stealth wiring for Blinder lidar jammer and Escort radar detector
- rear fog lights, with a twist (something to do with brake lights)
Included in above is a secret master plan to get Tore B's LED brake lights (corners and high centre) to work WITHOUT disabling cruise control. Stay tuned for more info.
Also, installed connector for CDR-220 to enable:
- illumination
- GAL (speed volume compensation)
- mute (from Blinder lidar)
Also working on rust repairs around front & rear windows, followed by install of new windshield.
Followed by paint overhaul: chip repairs, clay bar, compound, polish, wax.
Bugs won't dare touch us next summer.

Just installed a Ruf Strut Brace. Took a whopping 20 minutes.
Next few things lined up:
New spark plugs (Couldn't resist the price for the Bosche plugs at Jegs)
Bergville rear stop light kit...got it for xmas.
Colorplus on the drivers seat bolster
Continental radio
LED's for gauges

no need for a master plan.

So I spent half the afternoon figuring out a POC design involving a form C relay and low ohm resistor. Fortunately did not pull the trigger on ordering the parts however.
Had also considered and abandoned another workaround using the low intensity filament of the extra brake light, retrofitted on the light bar. I am retrofitting rear fogs and planned to use the high intensity segment for the fogs.
Tore's ballast solves all this and will let me use full intensity LEDs for the rear fogs as I would prefer.

Drove my 993 to work today for a detail and new rock guards. Also ordered up a set of PSS10 this morning from Gert and have a set of wide ovals on the way. Had FD SSK and Golden Rod done on Tuesday. Needless to say it has been a great week!

Installed a strut brace...while it continues to hibernate for the winter.
Next: suspension and euro turbo bumper.
