Default SOUL Valved Exhaust Part Failure Question

Hey all. So I have a Soul Valved exhaust on my car which I've loved. Recently though one of the valve diaphragms have failed and I was in contact with Soul to help remedy the situation. I also took it to my local indie in LA to help diagnose.

Anyhow, they are going to be sending me the replacement part but labor is on me. Kinda bummed since the part failure is going to cost me to have it replaced and wouldn't cost me anything had their part not failed. They are covering the part but not the labor. Has anyone had any experience with this and possibly had a better outcome?

That's how almost all warranties work - parts only, no labor, and sometimes shipping is covered and sometimes not, and they always exclude consequential damages, like a tire that fails and then damages the fender - tire will be sent free, mount, balance, and fender.repair on the user.

I have a complete Fabspeed system on my 997 and their secondary car bypass pipes on my Cayenne Turbo S and everything fits, the metal is thick and great quality, the welds are great and the sound well developed. The system on my 997 has been installed since 2012 and I've had zero issues with it.

There are some poor quality exhausts out there like TopGear but Fabspeed and Soul aren't poor quality.

Thanks for the feedback and insight. That makes sense to me, especially the tire example.

Let me restate fabspeed and soul are good but for not much more there are better made I have a full fabspeed setup on my 996 but for my 997.2 turbo I have an IPE system the quality and fit aren’t close for about $800 more the owner of soul used to work at fab so the quality and innovation is similar the sound quality between them is vast

I've had otherwise good luck with my soul exhaust that was installed 3 years ago and have been happy with it.

IPE does sound good (just watched a video) but their 1 year warranty is a bummer.

Am i reading this correctly that you’re being sent a wear and tear item on an aftermarket part that’s 3 years old for free?

Soul makes quality products and John’s a stand up guy. Im not sure what you expect from aftermarket pieces. even purchasing an oem exhaust you’d be SOL after 3 years on a part that failed. I’d say you’re lucky you’re even getting a replacement covered.
