992 C2S Surround View
Don't have the surround view optioned as I use my mirrors and swivel my head to check when parking/maneuvering. Any benefit to getting the surround view? While it's "only" another $1400 or so, if it's mediocre I'd rather save the money for something else.

If you live/work in the city and occasionally have to park curbside or around tight spaces, surround view is clutch for avoiding curb damage on your wheels and front spoiler lips. The wheel views for all corners are extremely useful, which I can’t personally live without now… for the sake of my wheels and whatever aftermarket ones I install in the future haha

Like others said, the front camera is worth every penny when parking and not hitting whatever is in front

Burning Brakes
Put it this way: the cost of the option is much less than replacing a wheel.

Can also save from getting FAL (geography dependent)

It’s one of those options i didn’t really consider since it came with the premium package. But I’ve learned to love how useful it is getting the car centered in a parking spot. Or as others noted avoiding curb rash. I would definitely order it again - premium package or not.

I liked the feature on my last car so ticked it, the cameras are marginally worse than on the AMG but still useful and would recommend if you are considering.

I scraped my sedan a couple of times because of the cement blocks in front on the parking space. The parking sensors help but I wished it had front camera. I also curbed a couple wheels pulling up too close. Will always get surround cameras in future cars.

Surround view makes parking and backing out soooo much easier. It's a real innovation and we get it for all our vehicles. Sure, you can do without it but why? If the money doesn't really matter to you then get it - It will likely help resale later too (if that applies in your circumstances).

In the end, I decided against it. I personally really dislike the way the cameras look on the car, and decided they would not increase my driving enjoyment; my logic was that I was buying the car to drive, not to park.
I then, after delivery, hit the first parking block I encountered, while parking the car. Go figure!
Ultimately, I have no regrets. I've managed to stop short of parking blocks after that first incident, so I guess I'll survive.

Ordered my C2 S coupe w/o it last month. Had a couple 992's with surround view and found it annoying and over sensitive. Personally, having many nannies on board, I find myself becoming a lazy driver. A new front lip spoiler is only a few hundred bucks anyway and it's not hard to read a side mirror to watch a curb (probably just jinked myself now!). I also skipped on lane change assist since its not an audible warning when blinker is on. All these items should be standard anyway, shame on Porsche.
To be honest, I do have surround view on a '23 GMC 2500HD pick-up and its very useful. That thing is a bit of a bitch to maneuver. Then add a fiberglass shell on back plus tinted windows and she's a bit of guessing game.
