Default Interior noise level Carrera T

Can someone that experienced the 991 or 992 Carrera T let me know how the interior noise level is ? I heard on some video reviews that because the sound isolation is stripped on the T the engine noise is louder, im ok with that .. but how is exterior noise in the highway for example ? Highways are super loud, trucks are loud, everything , is it an issue for some people ? thanks!

The T may be the wrong car for you if you are concerned about interior noise levels.

‘19T and I kind of would welcome even more noise. Added cats and headers and the interior noise level does not bother me in the least.

No, more noise from the car. Do not really notice outside noise but when I drive, I’m in a zone and laser focused.🤣

I’m ok with car noise , I’m a bit afraid of highway noise though.. kinda sensitive to that stuff 😬

991 had a T also some YouTube reviewers bring it up. I’m cool with engine noise in the cabin , highway noise not so much

My recommendation is to spec any 992 with noise insulated glass. It cuts down road/wind noise as intended, but also improves interior engine acoustics. Even better if you combine noise insulated glass and rear seat delete (GTS).

I would love to see someone actually show data to support the noise insulated glass commentary. I actually have it on my 992S but I have nothing to compare it to since I haven't driven another similarly equipped 992 back to back. Something tells me that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference!

Isn't the GTS noise profile similar to what you might expect in the T? Maybe someone can answer up in that regard. but I haven't heard any complaints from them so maybe nothing to worry about.

I drive a CAB with Akropovic Sport Exhaust and I would expect the interior noise to be louder - in general - than a coupe. So far, I don't have any issues with 80MPH roadtrips that are 6 or 7 hours long with the top up or down. No noise fatigue or anything like that. I fall out of the car like a crumpled piece of foil at the end of the trip but, other than that, no worse for wear.

I did a ride along comparison with another owner - it is significantly noticeable. Especially the drone and pops.

All 911's are relatively loud. My GTS's primary loudness is road noise and it doesn't matter which 911 you choose, you're going to get that. GTS and T have somewhat reduced sound isolation, but are not significantly noisier than Carrera, S, etc. You can opt for even less sound suppression, and I can't address that from experience. The current crop of 911's share similar sound characteristics (less the GT3's): some exhaust, some induction, more road. If you've test driven a 911, regardless of model, you've experienced "the sound." The differences from Carrera to Turbo S aren't significant. Now if you want a wailin' flat six sound, the GT3 will not disappoint.

In that case you don’t want a 992. Maybe a Turbo, but not a Base, T, S, or GTS. They all have considerable road noise.
