Default 992 GT Silver Metallic

Having trouble deciding on color.
The local dealership does not have any 911's in stock.

I'm heavily leaning towards GT Silver Metallic.
It would be great to see on in person.
Can anyone let me know how the lines of the car look in GT silver ?
Or any other information regarding this color option.
Thanks !

I’m biased but yes, GT silver is one of my favorite colors. Porsches look so amazing in silver. It’s just a classic and timeless color.

I think it looks good, more subtle than some of the louder colors, but also more sophisticated. GT Silver is the launch color for the 992 Turbo S, so you can take a look at the press photos at https://press.porsche.com/prod/press...s?OpenDocument

saw this at my local store - https://www.porschestevenscreek.com/...AA2A96LS206197

looks great. gt silver metallic was my first choice until the "boss" (aka my wife) ruled against it and decided on a jet black metallic.

I'm a Silver car guy. Currently have a Rhodonite Silver BMW M5. Ordered my 992 in Dolomite Silver as I had a Silverstone BMW M3 and Dolomite is very close to that. Nothing, and I mean nothing wrong with GT Silver, I just wanted to be a bit different than most, so I went with Dolomite. Can't go wrong with any Silver in my mind, does not show the dirt and easy to keep clean. I know, lots of Silver cars out there.....I'm Okay if I blend in...As long as I'm driving in my 992...

After my last three bmws being varying shades of gray I swore I was going to get a color this time.

and yet ended up w gt silver. Couldn’t be happier. Easy to care for and really shows the lines of the car.

California Poppies

The GT Silver has a reflective quality that bring out different hues depending on the ambient light; In bright light it appears a very shiny silver, but in softer light, particularly around sunset it takes on an almost bronze like appearance. Regardless it always shows off the abundant curves of the 911 without being too flashy.

Everybody likes their own car - color, wheel choice, options.

I chose GT Silver. My friends say silver is boring. So be it. Silver is the classic Porsche color albeit ubiquitous on all marques nowadays. Three reasons for its popularity come to mind. As mentioned above, silver does not show dirt - or scratches. I also believe it is a safer color because it does not blend in - like darker colors. Finally I think silver goes with metal surfaces.

My previous P car was Rhodium (sp?) Silver. I prefer the GT because it has less blue in it. As I recall, GT Silver was introduced on the Carrera GT - so that's a royal lineage.

That's Rhodium in the back and GT in the foreground.

Don't discount Dolomite - which is a beautiful color and like Rhodium or Polar Silver before it, has a blue hue in it. GT Silver with black leather and canvas if cab/ targa....Dolomite with blue hides and canvass...

Look at the photos above and see how GT silver shows off the lines of the car. If my last one wasn’t GT silver, I would have done that with the black/Bordeaux interior on my 992.
