I don't want to start another thread, (but I may have to). I have decided on GT Silver over black but am torn on wheels. I like classics but I don't like the machined face. My other choice is S silver or platinum. My question is has anyone painted the classics to get rid of the machined face?

Yes I'll do that but they are all already represented here in this thread (S, S platinum and Classic) with the exception, I think, of painted classics? I was really wondering if anyone has tried painting the rims to eliminate the machined faces. It sounds like a big effort just to eliminate the shiny parts but I really don't like them that way.

I’ve heard members saying the dolomite is a “flatter” silver. Yes, I know it has blue undertones in it, but how does the metallic flake compare to GT silver. One of the configuration options I’m considering is dolomite or GT silver on a Targa 4S with a blue top and graphite blue interior with chalk stitching. It seems the GT silver pops more in good light, but I’m not sure it would work with the blue bits as it has a brown undertone.
Which you hue you prefer is personal preference, but like you, I was specifically interested in which one was more "metallic" for want of a better term. No doubt in my mind it's GT, which looked much less flat than Dolomite.
