What did you do to your 996 today?
Searched pretty throughly through the 996 forum to find and bump a thread like this if it existed. I couldn't find one, so I thought I would start a new thread where people could share what they accomplished for the day without having to post their own new thread.
Its one of my favorite threads on the 997 forum ,as it is updated multiple times daily. Lets see if we can get this one bumping.
First post is a friendly PSA. Get that front bumper off and clean off those radiators. Car was cooling fine, and any cooling improvement remains to be seen, but man did it feel good to clean 20+ years out of my 99 C2. Having the bumper off is a great opportunity to respray any plastic thats faded with a black or a clear coat.

Yup, those are some pretty dirty rads. Should cool things down a bit!
Only thing I did to my 996 today was put down the top and drive it.

The first thing I did after cleaning the radiators was to repaint the red safety latch for the frunk. Mine was really faded and since all of the trim pieces were removed, it made it easy to mask off and paint. I used some I left over from doing my calipers. It's been at least four years and it's holding up great.

Did the first oil change on my engine since the rebuild. All looks good after 500 miles in the BR30 break in oil, just some fine ferrous grit on the mag drain plug. Nothing to worry about IMO, but I haven’t cut open the Napa filter yet. Too hot to handle at this time.
Replaced the oil with DT40, will do the next change after 2-3000 miles or by winter whichever comes first.

I used the exact same link that wild bill sent.
Takes a few hours, and the only out of the ordinary tool required is a torx bit. Great project for a cool summer morning, like todays!

Had to break out the bucket and get a wash in on this gorgeous day. Also anxiously awaiting the arrival of the package I ordered from Tarett engineering.

I did the radiator thing last week. Mine looked really similar to the initial photos in the thread, so I won't post more of the same. The new Valentine 1 and the Blend-mount arrived Saturday, so the install is the next project.
