I am a new member here and have had NUMEROUS German cars but I am trying to get into my first Porsche 911 (FINALLY!!!), I had an 86 944 which was really nice! I have saved up and worked hard and its time!!! I have a max of $25,000.00 to spend and would like any air-cooled running (I know I'm not touching a 993 but wishing cant hurt OR 997 Porsche. I would also consider 996 C4S or Turbo. Let me know what you have, may travel a bit but would like to keep it somewhat local in order to see it and test drive prior to purchase. I have CASH IN HAND!! Happy to have joined as a member and to get to know everyone!

Saw this in the 997 section... not terribly far away and within your budget (if it's not a scam... tread carefully):

A far way from Florida, but seems to be a good deal (assuming no major issues).

I am over in Trinity by Tarpon Springs don't have any cars to recommend at this time but will keep an eye out the market here is pretty active but going prices are more like this
997 even starting with the 2005- Low 30s at best
996 C4S or Turbo- high 30s to low 40s at best
Air cooled 911 SCs, Carreras, - low 30s to whatever $$
If you want a "good" car for $25K try and find a clean 996 that has had good maintenance and standard upgrades, IMS, RMS etc.Try to buy from a Rennlister or PCA member if you can.
Good luck with your search and welcome to Rennlist.

You'll find a high mileage 997 or decent 996.
Definitely no air cooled car unless it's an SC or in need of a lot of work. Absolutely no turbo.
Also be willing to travel - otherwise you'll most likely compromise on something far from ideal because it happens to be close.
