I really really want this thing. My 2016 RS already seems so inadequate compared to this beastie!

...GT3 vs GT2 RS
They feel like very different cars, though. The real test will come in 2018, when the revised 991.2 GT3 RS arrives offering all the serious chassis and body tweaks of the GT2 but with less weight and a 9000rpm naturally aspirated sting in the tail. It could well be the best of the lot, though by then, the GT2 will likely have sold out.

I plan to update this in my Euro Delivery post, but today (November 7th) while on my Zuffenhausen Factory delivery, I was able to witness (Sorry no pics allowed) the GT3RS Engine! It was in the assembly align, with a very clear printed paper on top of the intake manifold, that stated:
991 II GT3RS

The new .2 GT3RS motor is definitely normally aspirated. What was odd... is it had a 'spec/bar code' sheet, with smaller writing on that paper... and it showed 357KW and 450 Nm? Which doesn't seem to make any sense, so not much help, I also looked for 'any displacement' clues... and couildn't see anything. I was hoping to find a 4.0 or 4.2 somewhere, but that was listed nowhere.

I was able to compare the new GT3 RS motor to the previous 3.8 GT3 engine, that they have on display. The Throttle body looked like it could be slightly larger (was tough to tell... as it was also extremely shiny) and the exhaust manifolds/headers... might have been slightly larger... not super noticeable... so again... from a couple feet away... I wasn't able to see any noticeable part differences on the motor... but they are clearly identifying it as different.

Also, since the motor for the GT3RS was about ready to be installed, the tour guide said it's roughly 1 hour from where we saw the motor, to marriage to the car... unfortunately this meant we were unable to go down to the first floor and see the Porsche's final completion as a 'project car' was going through the assembly. Which was most assuredly the new GT3RS!

So, this car will be debuted very shortly I'd say!

Best Regards,
Dave

Very cool to see that, shame displacement wasn't "advertised"... Hang around the factory exit and follow it.

That would be 478hp to the wheel and 331lb/ft??? That is significantly higher than the .1 RS no?

Dunno, that's about what my 997 4.0 dyno'ed at.
Not sure what the 991RS would do and if the PDK saps some power?

If it was on the paper with the engine I would say it's more likely the test result from the engine dyno. This would be within 5% of the .1RS or .2GT3 engine. Curious.

Yeah, I looked at a couple of the 'TT' motors to see how they were rating their kw / nm... but they were 'blank' in those boxes.

Being a guy that is 'US' HP/TQ, I didn't know what to make of 450/357... until I could get back to my phone and google the specs/conversion!

Needless to say once I did... I was bummed it didn't come out to 530hp/400tq or something... but I still believe that the numbers... will be a 5 to 10% bump over the .2 GT3/.1 RS... would just make sense.

Obviously wish I could have taken pics... or seen the GT3.2 RS come off the line... but it wasn't in the cards today. But they are getting very close to it being complete if coming down the factory line now.

Best Regards,
Dave
